I think it be finished. Inspiration hit me today to get back at this and do it right, or at least to my satisfaction, especially after a moment of silence out on the deck watching the sunset.
Here is a link to the full size version:

Crits are more than appreciated, thanks

ummm.. those plants on the water look a bit too *artificial*, I dunno if its the fact that they're all lit about the same and about the same size, but they look a bit like 3d models or like you used something like the lil image tool that painter has to just dump copies of the plant into the pic..
The rest of the pic is awesome.. specially those clouds.. but somethings just not quite right with those plants in the water.
*edit* oh, and in the yellow part of the sky, just behind the clouds, you kinda loose the depth effect that ya had going.. things flatten out a bit back there a bit, might wanna work on that a little.

Ummm... I think the plants on the river were in the original picture. Correct me if I'm wrong. Either way, great job optic!

Hey Opti, yep it's me from Maxforums. Good to see a familiar person around here. I really like the pic, I saw clouds like those yesterday actually and wanted to paint some. Did you paint all of the clouds or are they a modified photo? Either way it's a very atmospheric pic. Nice one. |

Here's some shots of the progress made on detailing the trees and clouds, (might be helpful to some ?)
Hey Loud! Good to see you here And actually, no photos were used for the clouds...
