Well after working on it pretty solid for the last two days, I've finally finished this image. Thanks to everyone who made suggestions and I tried to incorporate most of them (except for the top lip one, I changed it subtley but my friend has a lip like this so it stays). I also have about 40 jpgs as I was working through this image and was thinking of doing a tutorial. Seriously, would it be worth it to write it up?! Would anyone actually look at it. Feel free to crit away.

no offense or anything this is just not an image i would draw for myself, but if you had a tutorial for it i would attempt to make it because there is not better way to learn to draw then to actually try it. looks very nice though. She looks better with hair .

Hi Matt
I have some suggestions that maybe can help.
The background is very dark suggesting that the person is standing outside one rainy evening, still she is very lit up and bright and not affected at all by the enviroment at all.
The pictures shapes gives me the impression of that it's suppose to be realistic, especially the face, but the colours and
shading looks cartoony in a way.
The hair that's hanging down looks like blood. There is also another problem that i can see and that is that it is hard to see how the hair is folded, shaped in a way.
the result of that is that it looks like a wig.
The fold on the cloth makes the fabric looks very thick. A good thing wich i find helpful
is to study folds on people, look yourself in the mirror, study your friends folds on their cloth.
I noticed that you started with the face and then the cloth and then the hair. I would suggest that you work with the whole piece and not sections of it. That can result in
that the different elements looks liek they don't belong in whole.
I did a quick example mostly to try and show how you can do the whole thing and still get an impression of the whole.
Hope this can help you a little
Mikael

Hey Matt.
It looks good the clothing makes sense now, if I had known it was wet I wouldn't have said anything, Oh well.
I wasn't sure what you were going for but this clears it up. The image looks really cool. How'd you make the rain. It looks pretty nice.
Anyways great job.
