damn! that's really cool long! i never played FF, im lookin forward to the PS2 version though i dont see anything to critique on it really, except that guys face must be a black hole with eyes because in EVERY picture you cant see his face

did you work this straight in photoshop or is it off a pencil sketch or something?

The bright and saturated colours you've used don't really fit with the material I've seen from FF9.

It's pretty good work, though I don't really like the character design (which you did NOT do i assume), for he appears to be a ripoff of "Orko" from Masters of the universe (anyone remember that?), crossed with starwars Javas. But I dig your style, just would like to see more original work from you.

Well, I can't remember the character Orko, but I do recognise Obelix' pants....?

The picture is so damn good!! The background looks like houndreds of rad/orange/yellow colors layered on top of each other.. Beautiful depth.

Thanks for all the kind comments, I really appreciate it.

CapnPyro: yeah, his face MUST be a black hole...either that or his skin is pure black. The FMV renders of him actually have the eyes being rounded shapes, not just holes of light. This piece was a pencil drawing which i colored in Painter, and then added fx in Photoshop. Here is the original pencil drawing if you are interested.



Rinaldo: yeah, this is my take on the VIVI character, it wasn't meant to be a carbon copy of existing FF IX work.

Jaymo: no, I didn not create him. He's a character from Final Fantasy IX. I have more original work on my website. And I am working on a new original comic series for next year, which will have a lot more original work. In the mean time, if you are so inclined, look for a comic called ECHO. This is more of my original work. It's published by IMAGE comics under the Dreamwave imprint.
