Similar tragic story as Sumaleth's. I couldn't do it few moths ago, now it's seems to be possible although it's slow. Do you have any advice on how to make it more realistic ?

Really cool pic, it looks a lot like him! The colour variations in the skin are really nice too.
Hmmm, here are some suggestions, I don't know if they'll work out perfectly though.
Try putting a few brighter highlights. It'll make the skin look more... skin like... ?? Actually no, forget that, it sucks.
His face seems a little 'sliced' on the sides. A strong part of an image is the facial structure and all the other trimmings (neck etc). When you put all these elements onto the image, it'll look realistic. What you have right now might even be perfect, you just need to add in the neck and ears etc. You'll be surprised how much more real it will look.
Just keep refining in certain areas with the one pixel brush. Sharpness is a key aspect. Once you finish working out the details like his eyelids and eye brows it'll look very real. It's the tiny things that make up the portrait.
Post it up when you're done. It looks great already! I hope you didn't find what I said condescending in any way, I'm just trying to offer good critique.

There's no mistaking that tight-lipped grimace, of Captain Picard...hehe Good work!

The pic is dang cool. The only thing I noticed is his left eye (the eye on the left side which I guess is really his right eye if you were to look through his eyes). It looks a little fuzzy and doesnt quite match the detail of the left eye. Finish this pic up and it will be spectacular.

NICE PICARD...some details to add perhaps...ears which might slender his face...his face is very narrow...his right eyebrow is thicker in his top right...his character lines are deeper and darker...and he has a cast of white fuzz in a trangular curver on both sides...other then that it looks great..(I think he has brown eyes also...)

Thanks for comments everyone.
condescending,, no obviously. All the comments are valid. Point out everything you think is wrong with the image, i will probably go all the way with this. It will prolly change, but not much. |

Definitely looks like the Captain, although perhaps a little older than I remember him.
A few little things;
. His right pupil is quite a lot larger than the left one. I'd make it smaller rather than making the other one bigger.
. ShyGuy in my Picard thread did a version where the top edge of his right eyelid angled downwards slightly rather than being quite straight, and it actually seemed to make him look a bit more Picardish.
. His left eyebrow is quite a lot heavier than his right one.
. His left eyebrow is lower than his right one. I know this is a standard facial guesture, but I don't ever remember it being one that Picard did so it doesn't feel "him".
. The right side of his face (to our left) goes out further than the face does on his left. And I think his left looks more correct, his right side makes him look a bit puffy.
. On his left nostral (which seems wider than the right one), you've added in shading to the top of it to suggest nostral shape. Picards nostrals actually don't really have that, they tend to go more straight up and are quite flat on the surface.
. The nose coloration next to his right eye looks a bit bruised.
All little things, but the little things can make big differences.
(I didn't have time to read all the other comments so I hope I haven't duplicated too much.)
Row.
