Jess, just in case you care for a laymans opinion: I love Beck.
I've been vaguely aware of his stuff ever since Loser was a big hit, but only recently I've really gotten into his work.
Recently bought Mellow Gold and Midnite Vultures. The guy's a genious. In midnite vultures, his style varies from the 70's porno-funk to 90's electro to r&b to normal rock/pop. Crazy lyrics too, but ya gotta love it.
IMHO.
Hey, shouldn't this thing be going under the "What music do you like"-thread? Oh well...
Ugh, I'm failing miserably at kicking my net-addiction thang. Fuck.
