what books do you guys recomend for 3dmax? ive seen a book called 3dmax studio workshop but wasnt sure if i should purchase it because im sure there are other books out there that are better....im looking for tutorials and a better undrstanding of the interface.....so what do you 3d guys recomend?

Hey well it depends which version of it you have..... i Bought the a book last year called inside 3d studio max 2 resource kit. Its a 4 peice kit. One Big Book the 2 other books are on cd rom in pdf format and the last cd is full of character studio stuff.. Its great. I bought it for about 170$ canadian with taxe and is about 99$ american without taxe. Um i was at the book store the other day and they had a newer version of the book for 3d max 3 or 3.1. The only ting is that you have to buy each book appart for the newer version i think... Ahh well hope this helped

The "Inside 3D Studio" seriess of books is considered almost the Bible of 3D Studio, although it is notorious for having lots of little mistakes, typos, misnumbered figures, etc.
I have volume one for version 2.5, and I think I found something like 20 mistakes. Doesn't mean it's a bad book though. I learned a lot about MAX.

Most other books are just tutorials on how to do specific things.
