Cell phones the new age phone! Doctors hip protector teens new best friend. Okay i can see how they are good, but not in the movies people and not while you're driving, and I don't want to hear what you are talking about clear across the store.
Okay I was about hit again by a freak on a cell phone driving. Okay this is about the 5th time this week. She was in a nice red sports car going the wrong way on a one way. People were honking and flashing lights at her... nothing. Then tonight I went to the movies and a cell phone went off. Did she leave the movie no she sat there and talked through half the movie. (yes someone did complain). And the guy who totalled my car was on a cell phone going over 40 mph in a 30 and didn't give right away.
I have nothing against them, but is it just me or are people getting ruder with these things?

At least the people here have the decency to put their phones on silent when they go to the movies. |

We have kids that talk on them in class too. Our High school considers them drug parafinala (sp.) I just overly find them more annoying than useful anymore. I hate it when you're trying to have dinner and your companies phone goes off... your no longer there to them. Milk duds hey? I use to dip pop corn in my pop and throw. Trust me they won't pick it back up to throw back.

I love it when the kids at my school buy those little purses to carry their cell phone in. You know, the classic cheerleader type that drives daddy's Eddie Bauer Ford Expedition to school..
Used to be 10 years ago that the geeks were the ones getting beat up for excessive techno pride. Now it's the geeks making fun of the preps. Love it.
I gots some odd story about phone sex, but that's another Thread...

i own a cell phone, but i hardly use it. i just think there good to use incase you need to make a call. but i got one of those dumb ones that lets you send and recieve emails and also lets you browse the net.. seems kinda dumb to me. i havnt even botherd to learn how to do that with the thing, just seems pointless and adds more complication and frustration to the thing. i totaly agree about people who try to drive and use the phone at the same time. its very stupid |

im happy for cellphones, i used to just be a giant floating head without love...then when i got a cellphone i had no way to hold it. i used it anyways, and it was very difficult, but once i started using it a lot, i developped a tumor. in a few months i leared how to control the tumor and i now have arms and legs. i am greatful for my tumorous nubs caused by my cellphone, i am greatful.

I really don't have much of a problem with cell phones (just the people on them), but people should be more respectful of those around them. Is it just me or when people talk on those things they feel they have to talk 5 times as loud?
What's really funny are those uys going shopping using a cell phone to call his wife to make sure he gets what he's suppose to.

Cell phones have become more of a trend than a real necessity. I think maybe 90% of the people who own cell phones do not really even need them.
I think this is real apparent especially for high school kids or the people who want to look "cool" with them.
Who really needs them? High flying business men who need to be contacted ASAP/24/7, to make key descisions/ or anything related to that.
And yeah, they are farking annoying too, I hate sitting in a movie or in the class having to hear someone's cell phone or pager go off and then they do not have the decency to leave the fucking area to talk, but rather right in front of you.

I hate it when the have the "ring" be some dork assed lame song rather than an actual ring. My friend has a cell phone that makes these little clicks, like if you were to hit two sticks together...totally cool. Annoying songs...totally stupid. |

Honestly, cell phones can annoy me too. There are a /lot/ of things with them that can annoy me. Mostly that people seem to want to be /there/ all the time. They want others to be able to reach them 24/7.
I have a cell phone, yeup. I'm not even ashamed of it. I've got the signal shut off almost all the time. I don't chatter in it wherever I go, and when I do - I step aside where I won't be in the way, and I talk in a soft voice. I play tetris on it while waiting for the bus, and I need it to be able to get hold of my friends - and because my boss wants to be able to contact me when he needs to.
I also like to have a phone with me in case something happens. In case I miss a bus and end up all alone downtown some dark night, or, as it happened the other week, I lock myself out and no neighbours are home. I rarely use it, but I've found /good/ use it.
So... what I'm trying to say is: Don't whine about cell phones. Whine about the people who don't know how to use the phones. Whine about the ones strutting down the street and practically screaming their uninteresting conversations into their pretty little high tech phones. Whine at the ones who disrespect people around them. I feel it's perfectly silly to just completely ban cell phones just because some people become bastards as soon as they get one of these neat little gadgets.
It becomes the "I'm so cool because I'm anti cell phones" trend as opposed to the "I'm so cool because I have a cell phone" trend.
Hey, it's just a bloody phone!

Cell phones rock! I dunno about them in the US but I lived four years in Mallorca [Spain]. Every kid there has one of them. It's great, you can always get hold of your friends. On the weekends, cruisin around, don't know what to do, just get out your cell and call up everyone and see what's going on. It's great.
And in Spain people do turn off their phones when they go to movies or at least go outside if someone calls. You americans just don't have any manners [well a lot don't]. There is nothing wrong with cell phones, just with some of the people using them |

As I had said before I have nothing against the phone just the person on it. Yes I can see certain people needing one, but in the movies or at dinner turn the ringer off or down.
And for the normal person yes they are good to get ahold of you or in the case of a flat (etc.) but if you can't wait 5 damn minutes to get home to use the phone you have a problem... (anyone wonder if those people who are on their phone in public all the time are always on their home phones?) And don't drive while on it, pull over!

:P The sad thing is, the majority of those "lameass songs" are some of the greatest pieces of music ever written..
