ok, so most pop music sucks regardless, but what has really annoyed me the past few years are the half-assed alternative rock/modern rock bands - whatever you want to call it, all that grey shit that is a step below the pop pop and rap and other shit, because at least with those there's no bones about it being clearly defined, shitty music, but this other stuff, all the cookie cutters that come on the airwaves and mumble and play the same rifts as their few 'trendsetters', etc... etc... any way to get to the point, I saw on a site Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20, his fashion sense being defined as 'yuppie-fied grunge' and man that defines the whole movement for me!

Don't it feel good to find that perfect way to label those you despise, so that you might persecute them the more? But it's true man. It is yuppie-fication, just like what happened to San Francisco (although the pains of dot coms might help alleviate that situation), or your average The Gap college campus. You get all these clean cut, mellow, personalityless blobs, and when that starts extending to our most popular musicians, yug... scary. Very.

...I have some of the same feelings that you have described...but you have to realize that complaining about their existance is not going to make them go away...obviously somebody enjoys that sort of music, otherwise they would not be here...

Why waste precious energy on hating something that won't be affected by your, isolated and powerless opinion...I say, just accept crappy things for what they are and ignore them in the best way possible...

After all, if you aren't liked by someone, it's nice to be hated and acknowledged by them, right?!...denying their reality by ignoring them is the true path to ultimate spite-ation...
