posted this over at cgchannel for their challenge, so some of you might have seen this already. hopefully here ill get some decent feedback, not necceseraly to change, but maybe some tips on lighting would be nice since im rather new to cg painting.

originally i was just going to make the 3d model right after the sketch, but after seeying dussos art, i decided to jump in and paint him before i went ahead with a 3d model.

i started painting the sketch not too long ago..so its still in its still rather fresh.

Nice start! I did a fast overpaint, mostly simplified the shading:





Are you interested in co-operating this month's challenge? I could texture the model..

heres an update.
the light is still temporary as its done on a separate layer from the shapes/ object colours that i paint out.

hey bg. if you want to collaborate we would have to talk about it. see in teh end i will want to texture the character myself anyway. but that might not happen for a bit. so im guessing that for the challenge it should be fine if we collaborate.

Just to say that I thought the first image you had, with the line-work really knocked back, was a real stunner... the most recent image, with the linework more clearly defined, seems to have lost something and become slightly less interesting. I know this is basically concept stuff for a 3D model, but nevertheless it has something that's definately really original.
