I love Mac and use one at work and at Home.
The only draw backs I can say is that Mac's are very expensive and Apple likes to make thing obsolite to quick. like the fact that The G4 dosen't have a floppy port.
I own a G3 that I've had Since 98 it's still in great condition and works fine. The only thing is that it dosn't have a USB port I still have a serial port.
My printer broke about 2 weeks ago and I have a comp USA 5 year extended warranty. The guy that fixes the printers is now telling me that nobody is making serial port printers. So my printer is just siting there with no solution to the problem. They cant even find a adapter that goes USB to serial. They sell adapters that go Serial to USB for people that buy new computers and want to use ther old printer but that doesn't help me.
I love my Mac but I think that Apple is trying to indirectly force people with older computers to buy new ones even if there computer works fine.
It's funny that a computer from 98 is considered very old.
What can I do? |

Most of the USB printer also sport the old serial port. We have a couple in the office that support both so you can choose which.
Personally I'd just get a USB anyhow, like A.Buttle suggested. That way you don't have to fret if any other hardware you purchase is USB. |
