Working in the multimedia field, I spend countless hours on a computer a day designing, video editing, surfing and I usually end up frequenting a few sites a day. The Star Wars Texas A&M page was one. It changed to theforce.net and yadda yadda yadda...a kick @$$ Darth Maul painting appeared. I followed the link, and lo and behold I was hooked. Being a big Mac guy as well, I recognized Spooge's stuff from the Bungie games and I knew this had to be a cool place. Sure enough, more new artists everyday than The Rock has tourists. I'm a 'sijun.com lifer' I think.

Saw the "fathom" image in 1998 on a comic images page, thought I'd check out the link that was on it because it was so different. Keep checking back every couple of months to see what new things had been created and one day this forum thing popped up. It had all these fantastic artists doing all these brilliant tutorials and posting detailed comments about there works and how they'd done it. Some people lament about the "good old days" mainly because people took alot more time to write valueable critiques and explain how'd they'd done things themselves. Unlike today when people throw up posts "my 10th quick sketch for the day - please comment but I won't do the same". |

Hmm....
I posted some stuff on DigitalArt.org and was checking out the other artist websites. While surfing through Goodbrush.com I saw the big C mentioned a Forum and followed the link....
After lurking for a few weeks I signed up. What a great community. Nobody else I know is a digital artist and its really the one of the few places I can come and find folks who relate. |

One day, a year or so ago, Janne came to school really pissed off - he had this pile of prints from several forum threads, all giving praise to the artwork of beam, also from our school. Too bad all the images were done by Janne. He confronted the Beam guy with this pile of prints, and the creep had the stomach to claim that it was just a personal joke.
I remember that Janne regarded this forum as " a place where stupid yanks flame each other and rip artwork " ... It took him a looong while to get posting. I wandered to this website and spent a good while thinking that way too - there was a shitload of flames to laugh at. |

Joined some crappy digital art mailing list a couple of years ago. Nothing useful was ever posted, until I saw this link to dhab's place. Was amazed at the quality of the work. Also, this was around the time he was promising to open a forum, so I stuck around, and registered when it was opened. In fact I'm pretty sure I'm the oldest active member. No 20! Baby! |

A friend of mine colored a picture of Feng Zhu's (aka Vortx) that he posted here for coloring. After I checked out his site, I asked where she had found it. She pointed me here - now I'm a bit of a Sijun junkie. Need more eye candy.

Lukias put a gun to my head, . . . .
. . . . and made me type an address into the browser . . . . .
. . . . . .he was ranting about "butt probes" and how the "others" had told "us" both to go here . . .
. . . . . True story, scary enough, have been trapped here ever since. . . . . |

Near the end of last year, I started getting into the digital side of art. So, I was browsing the net, finding lotsa different places and I found 3DPalette and Polycount(among many others). I'm pretty sure it was a link through one of those two places that I got here. And I've been loving it ever since. |
