Hi, this is a wallpaper 1024*768 it is 88KB

Not the normal stuff around here but I think it is good enough to show. I just want some opinions on wether or not ppl like it. Is it dynamic? is it interesting? visually...

ur|ban magazine concept art (Copyright). This is a wallpaper, that I produced to demonstrate my design, and studio photoshop techniques. The concept is purely that, just an idea about the style of a magazine for which I have been asked to work on. I am a student graphic designer, and after a term and a half, I am approached for casual work on this magazine! I'm Ecstatic of course! Oh yeah its ur|ban with a syllable break in it.

I like it. You might wanna just look closely at the 'l', because (at this size) it reads a bit like 'urdban'. Good work!

I agree the ur|ban thingy is very confusing... the '|' is unclear especially because of this particular font. I hadn't noticed the d effect though, so thx.

hehe..cool...m a first year graphic design student at uni...been there for like 3 months and have learnt jack all...its so sad...i dont get aproached for jobs!!...howd you do it!!??...i stumble accross design competitions every now n then and enter them...but they dont do much for me besides win a few prizes....where do you do your design stuff?? o yeah...and nice piece but i agree with the text comment from myriad..

Looks cool....but it kinda hurts me eyes. the pain oh the pain! Sure its dynamic, itneresting etc, but its too mainstream. I've seen that type of design too many times where a "line" runs across the middle some text here and polygons or whatever litter it........ maybe try something more unique to you know, provide more originality. But hey, it's great as it is!

Well unfortunately I can't post my fixes.. because that is a deviantart hosted file...

I have fixed the text.. but it is still somewhat of an issue.

n8: I am very lucky that I got approached.. you'll get a break too. I have learnt a fair bit in my course, but.. I have also learnt staxx from just simply looking at other ppls design work.. whether it be magazine, book, internet (<< great resource!) and of course this forum the most.

EviLToYLeT: ok, ok I'll admit it is kinda mainstream... I'll work on changing that. Thing is that in design, anything you think of has probably been done before.. I am searching for something new however. Part of my passion for it, I want to be able to make people look at my work and walk away with inspiration, saying 'I have never looked at it that way before...'

Of course I don't think this piece does it, you're right.. This is my very first wallpaper... and I think its pretty nifty for my first time. I dont do much photo manip either, and I am also 3 months new to Photo Shop.

I'll try and post this new idea I had last night... this time I'll try something different, something... hmmm.. I suppose we'll see.. I'll post it here when I have finished..

any more crits or opinions are welcome..
