I'm forcing all the people i know to sit still for about an hour to get these done. First 2 done, about 10 to go :] Any comments about color use or technique, uh, anything, would help, since I don't know much about the medium.

other than the lighting being real dim looking, they look pretty darn good! so really the only thing i, personally would do would try and bring some brighter highlights in it.
the structure of the first one seems alittle weak, compared to the 2nd one anyways, blahblahblah blah, its kinda midtone all over though.... god im just typin smut.

Yeah, I think the paintings could do with some highlights, especially areas like the nose. Otherwise, outrageuosly cool.

So this is what you've been up to ?
I like the second one better.

If any crits ( as you are far more better than me with oils .. still can't bloody get myself to make a painting with just one layer .. ), then i'd say there's some areas ( like the throat / neck area in the second piece ), that have unnecessary stuff going on that draws the attention. I'm not sure if you get my point, or if it's even valid, but that's what i think anyway .. oh, and they are pretty dim .. scanned ?
see you around.

I'll reply more later, but damn, burnout, thanks for being there to help me with the problems on anatomy!
I like the corrections (exaggerations) you painted over, I think you're right, I should bring out the subtleties out more. The scans are a little dim and off focus since there's a small frame on the stupid scanner, and the paintings don't quite fit.

I'm gonna put more effort on the next ones.. damn, thanks!

Looking nice Gecko

One thing he needs is some white to his eyes. Right now his eye color just blends right in with the flesh tones.

It seems you use too many mid tones. It's a bit hard to "read" the pictures now, due to lack of contrast or something, Im not sure :P

Oil is very difficult to work with me thinks. It never dries and makes u dizzy due to the thinner/terpentine...

Looking damn fine Gecko. Nothing to add to burnouts comments... Would love to be able to do oils from time to time... Well, better stop daydreaming...
