Hi All,
I'm new here and wanted to share my new website with you all. I'm trying to become self employeed as a freelancer and was wondering if any of you had experience freelancing in Seattle and if you had any advice for me on how to get started.

Damn dude, one hell of a site. Teamed up with your art work I don't think you'll have to much problem freelancing. Wish I could give you some advice since I'm from the area. But no one would hire me for art if my life depended on it. |

My best advice for going freelance is to start spamming agents. It is really hard to go freelance if you dont have an agent who can get you work and has lots of contacts. I think you are a good artist but agents are very hard to get . You might try looking into art agencies in New York that is where all the best agents are . Somethings that might help is if you have had published work that you can show them. Also try sending a portfolio to all the diffrent game magazines and other places like Palladium books and especially Wizards of the Coast ( www.wizards.com ) A lot of people start there. Anyways good luck it is very hard work and not always fun at first but once you get a name for yourself then you should have no problem finding work and you can sometimes pick your projets. Do seek out an agent though or it is going to be almost impossible making a living as a freelancer. |

Thanks for the advice Quasar,
I think I might try tackling wizards of the coast first. I don't know how to get in touch with agents though. It's all kind of a mystery to me. But I'll keep your good advice in mind as I persue freelancing.
thanks!
