Hellohello. ^^
ChibiChan here, a 16 (just turned that today actually. ) year old 'artist' who's been lurking about this board for a while and, seeing some of the awesome work that people post here, I've decided (with some prodding from people who post here already. _) to post up some of my own work. *nervous* o_o; But enough of my ramblings..
First off, some finished doodles and style tests that I tend to do more often than not..
I used a reference for this one, working on my anatomy and such.
A few that I spent more time on. The first is the lineart for a poster I'm doing for the school play.. but I'm hoping to obtain Painter 7 somehow before I colour it. u.u The second is something for artclass, whereas it was a view throught a hole in a fence.
That is all. Any comments or constructive critism would be great. I hope I don't talk too much for y'all. |

Pretty cool stuff. 16 hey.. wish I was that good when I was 16.
I like the last one the best, probably cos it is the most complete one. It doesn' reall stand alone as a complete pic,, because you need to work some more tonal range into your pencil marks, but due to the fact its is gonna be painted thats ok.
The first one is good too because of you fluid style, it looks easy and clean, and thats refreshing.
Nice work! |

hmmmm... i'm just gonna C&C the anatomy sketch.
the first thing is... why are you doing anatomy sketches in anime?
i've heard around here that Sheridan won't even accept you into their school (or was it just animation department?) if your 'folio has stylized work, like anime, in it. I can't imagine what they'd say if you were doing figure drawing classes and you were just drawing anime.
But anyways....
the bodies are decent. The head on the left looks odd though. Her ear is to far back, and her ear is actually tilting forward, instead of backwards 15 degrees.
hmm... the rib cage looks odd too.... it's not there.
When you do figure studies you usually do them realistically; and realistically you don't use lines much, you use shade. which is why i've said to use guidelines, not just go in there and put down the details first, put in the the outline, and then shade it. works fine for anime, but not for something realistic...
so, how about them yankees? |
