I have been feeling pretty shit about my work lately and I think its because I keep (though not really aware that I am) trying to draw like everyone else who I think is better than myself.
So instead of trying to get all refined and tight straight off I've gone alot messier/looser, more gestural and so far have liked the two quick'ish pics I've done.
They're nothing special but I'm thinking perhaps its a direction I like.
Please share your thoughts
(chucked in this top pic to, not new style but I quite like it)

definately cool, judging by the last pic there id say your 'loose' style is successful! this is actually a really good idea... i think maybe ill give it a whirl.

I agree, you should just try to find your own style..at least thats what I try to do, and as far as keeping things loose I also feel that is definatly the way to geo with skecth work, Although I get heavy handed myself at times. Kick ass Stetches though, The top one though doesn't have enough value change. |

Lukiaz, damn great sketches man! You got a really nice style going there in all of them. I especially like the subtlety of the shading in the first one. Very cool stuff. |

Good looking shit as usual man! diggin the top one the most I think. Love all the shards of ice coming off the head.. Legs connect abit weird, (wheres his nutz yo?..) but just a nitpicking.
The wanderer pic in the middle (original titles you be rockin bruhh ) is cool too, good pose and expression, anatomy looks good too.
Like the last aswell, head kinda reminds me of my stuff abit. The long haired scraggy beard krew be getting contagious hehe.
Think it's good you loosening up tho. Think you should still do your tight work as thats some of your best imo, tho doing this stuff along side will probably keep the flow going and help in developing your style even more, keep on rockin

Cosnan the barbarian in the house!.
haha I always have original names man!
Yeah since you and Flex have been obsessing( ) over barbarians & Nordic warriors I thought I'd join in the fun.
Yeah I'm still not sure what style I like. Though I don't necassarily have to have a permanent style I suppose. I started a pic the other day and its real tight unlike these last two.
Thanks alot for the comments bro
Anyway I best let this thread die. |
