Sorry to be so negative, but rules are never going to work unless we have a way to enforce the rules. I feel sorry for the mods having to maintain this board, because they are generally nice people and I think they really don't want to ruin anyone's stay here on the boards. However, my dad always told me that sometimes you just have to kick a little ass to get things done. I think this forum needs it right now. We have 4000+ members and more joining everyday. That means these little "Bad spells" we go through will happen more often and faster than before. For those who have been around since the board was still new you can notice how we would hit these spells here and there.. it is still the same but with 40x the people it just happens more often. I think the forum needs stricter moderation. If people don't like it then they will move on.. those who love the forum and the learning experience here will stay. You can't hope to stop the flamers and useless posts you can just hope to contain them.
Basically, any positive turn of events to come from this thread will be short lived unless we can enforce these guidelines. |

We now have no moderators.
none.
I can't blame Enayla for quiting, I wouldn't have wanted to be shit on for trying to help either.
Irregardless, this means tha this place will start falling to shit if no one does anything. The fact that Dhabih hasn't responded to anyone leaves me thinking that we're going to have to police this place ourselves.

Just because we can't move threads doesn't mean we can't moderate.
I am starting a new thread to address this
Let's keep going with rules.
here

I would like to see a rather large tutorial/faq on digital art/drawing in general. I have been here for a while and there are a huge number of questions that get asked over and over.
there was one of these a while back that got lost when the place got an upgrade, but it was still too thin.
If there is some serious action taken towards getting sijun back on track. then I would be willing to try and write something like this with the help of some others possibly. (I would rather someone with more authority do it instead but I doubt that will ever happen)
a sepperate area for hardware/software Qs is a must IMHO.
and a test area for people to try out the UBB code and all that stuff. a tech help place for the forum.
I know I have said it a lot, but when posting an image that you want help with. specify what you wanted to do with the image in the first place, and what you were having problems with. at least write something besides just posting an image and begging for crits. there needs to be a frame of reference for anything useful to be said.
ceenda- lol, ohh man. I would be torn apart in seconds if I posted my first crap now. |
