I just gotta say, I betcha Craig did that in Photoshop and not Painter, Dom. Though, I could very well be wrong (it happens a lot). |

I am most certain it's Painter. You can tell by the brushes. Although it's possible to create such custom brushes in PS. Painter has those included. I also saw Craig mention something about Painter previously. Although I will look foolish when wrong :P
Anyway have to contribute
Really Quick one:

thanks!
it's both PS and painter, from a little scanned pen doodle. Go back and forth, trying to use the strengths of each. Dom, I find painter to be slow and very difficult to control. It is great for doing neat abstract marks.
Sparth, not sure what smart abstraction is.

I actually found painter to work much faster and smoother on my comp. It's like drawing with a pencil. The strokes run so smoothly on screen. I also love the great tilt and rotate options, changing the brush rotation positions, which is far to difficult to duplicate in PS.
Love your watercolors Craig! I lost my set and got to buy a new one. Do you actually do these in from life or photo?
PixelSoldiers:Yes, Gouache
Cheers

neff, thanx m8!
spooge: great one.....i'm wondering if you're not letting a small part of smart abstraction slowly invade your pictures. |

oblagon: this color one is another keeper.
spooge: yea, the terms are quite controversial, i probably meant "letting your hand wander around, but only in particular areas chosen by yourself" or something....
just thought that your latest sketches were even more nervous..... |

This is based on a study Gerome did, I don't think he ever developed it further. It hangs in the Notre Dame art museum in Indiana.
edit-dom, water colors are done from life, 20 min poses. Panic time. mr soldier- thanks! Sparth- nervous? hehe, maybe so.
