ChiaNi - Tornstein is amazing. You and him will be my inspiration for some time, for sure. I love your colour work. As I mainy worked with pencil and generally B/W, I have problems with colours. But I will practise a lot. And thank you, I'm glad you like my works and homepage.I will uptade it as soon as I have time... which won't be soon.

One more time I will say it - I love your colour work. And I love the faces you do on those photos - the portraits are from photos, right?

Michal:

talking about color. you know... what you see the color acturely more then what out there...

??? you don't know what I am talking about?

when you see red. the nature red content maybe green or blue or pink no metter what around the red. why? because this is colorful world. all the color reflect to each other.

when you see tree. you see the leafes are green green. But remenber the leafes are gloss it will take any color around them. maybe the blue sky will reflet on green. maybe sun will give some yellow and some are new leafes are light yellow green some leafes has dirt on.

just when you paint. think what is around the subject. then bring that color in to your subject.

I don't remember if I posted this or not -it is a redo anyway.

ChiaNi: Thank You for the kind words -Your work has been inspiring. I need to take a page from your work and get some expressions going.
In fact, everyone's work has been really great and I get energized to paint everytime I check the thread out.

Yeah, this thread rocks as an inspiration. I was wondering (What a juvenile question this is... oh, well) what programs do each of you use? Right now I'm using Painter 6, and getting pretty used to it for the most part. Once again, I'm enjoying this thread thoroughly. Thanks everyone. Chiani and Torstien and Hunter, great work!

Here's one I posted elsewhere, but got no response. *sigh* Guess I'll put it in here, even though it didn't turn out looking much like me, it started out as such.

It is wonderful portrait. I don't see why no commend from this.

well I like it a lot. just a little suggest.

bring some blue gray tone to your eye and teeth. It just from my view. Maybe other great artist like it this way.

I use photoshop 5.5 and mouse paint selfportrait.

Torstein Nordstrand, I'm new to this and I really enjoy your work. I was hoping you could clue me as to how you set up your pallete in Painter. I'm also having some trouble with the brush settings. Can you create a custom brush and save it for repeated use? Lastly, where did you go to school, and what are you doing now?

She look more like my father rather then me. Well she is My dad in woman version.

When I were little girl. people always said I look like my dad's copy.

This picture does prove I am his daughter.

HA! First self portrait ever. I'm scared to do them...what if it turns out wrong!! You know that feeling?
I'm at a party sweating, and the flashlight is obvious so why hide it, eh?

EDIT: Fixed the weird eye a bit.

ChiaNi - thank, you for the tips, I will use them for sure. I've never any lessons about painting.. Everything I know is from observation others art.... and a few words from my brother, but he never tell me much. He has just finished the Art Studies. One more time thank you. I will try to bring the tips onto the screen.

Mchal. you are welcome.

look at Hunter's portrait. his skintone carry blue here or there. bright red some where. that can make a painting very fun to look at.

when you paint. just don't worry be happy.
