This is what I am working on at the moment. I want the image to be dramatic and full of energy so I decided to exaggerate his arms and use bright colours. But I'm not really sure if it is working or not. What would you change? Should I tone down the arms? Please post your opinions as it will help me push this piece as far as I can.

I think this one looks really cool, it would be cool if he wore some big gloves in iron or something. I think that would add some eletrical feeling to the blue ball.
By the way I checked out your site and the stuff in there rocks.
I am also a big fan to The Ataris, What do you think of Bodyjar?, They rock I think...hehe

The head's sorta small for the body, it looks pretty cool but you could consider changing it, but then again, you're going for an exaggerated look. Veins, lots of popping veins in the arms would be classic, also the red belt should be added, cause it's Ryu, the belt IS needed. By toning down the arms, you mean making them proportioned, I peronsally advise against it, because the long arms make him look like he's using a lot of power. The Hadou Ken fire ball looks kinda odd, but other than that i like, i like it alot. Oh, also, the facial expression. two thumbs in the air.

Reminds me of something from the SF Zero 2 movie.
More detail into his fingers of course-
I would suggest making them very detailed and rigged, having the joints and veins noticeable. So it looks like he's really stressing his hands in a sense of rage and power.

Matthew: Thanks for the advice I was thinking about putting on his trademark red fighting gloves, but then it looked kinda cumbersome. Thanks for the site feedback The Ataris rock, Bodyjar are great aswell, but I still like the Ataris better.

tilokani: Thanks I will definetely add more veins once I get the initial rendering down. Are you sure Ryu has a red belt? If he's so good at karate, wouldn't he be a black belt? Yes you're right about the arm size showing his use of immense power and I agree with you so I have left them large and bulky. The hadoken will be reworked for the final, I just placed the initial one in to give a sense of lighting and direction. Thanks for your help

DarkVVulf: I actually have the SF Alpha (I don't know if it's the same as SF Zero) movie on DVD and thought some of the concepts such as the "dark hadou" were awesome, so it served as a great source of inspiration. I still have to work the detail into the hands. I think I'll need reference for that, but I'll definetely have all the veins and muscles popping out. Thanks for the help

Well here is the progress. I still need to work on the arms and hadoken ball. I also plan on putting in more veins. There is a vein on his neck, to give an idea of what they will look like. NOw I need to find some reference for realistic placement. Any more input would be appreciated

hey jason...your stuffs getting better and better...a couple of suggestions on making it more dramatic...give him glowy eyes ...glowy eyes are always cool..hehehehe...could add some streams of blue electricity running down his fore arms...and possibly throw him in a dark room...you know like how you shine a torch from under your face and it looks all dramatic n spooky n stuffs..hehe...anyway..keep up the good work
