hase...Your point not very er...new.
I personally don't think people should question how much other people do out of "ethics".
It's like saying you are a hypocrite only giving ten bucks to a bum because you still have 500 in the bank.
People have the right to determine what and how much they are willing to sacrifice for others (in this topic that includes animals). Doing something is more than doing nothing. |

@edraket:
I really am sorry, I didnt realise that this was the "find the most innovative point" thread.
I dont criticise people for sacrificing something for others, what I am not comfortable with are people who make small, pointless sacrifices in order to feel better about themselves while actually accomplishing nothing.
And personally I think you should question all and everything you find objectionable. Especially other peoples ethics. |

If they feel better about themselves then they have accomplished something. Painting pretty pictures doesn't accomplish much either. Who says everyone has to change the world in order to have purpose? *shrug* _________________ My Art.

I just realized my last post got rather emo.
What I meant to say is that I still believe 99% of the world's population sucks, but the way in which we go about revealing our suckage is pointless to dwell on.
And I also meant to say: _________________ My Art.

Considering 1% of the world's population is about 63,000,000 people... I think I'm being rather lenient. _________________ My Art.

I find the whole attitude that doing small things is pointless rather frustrating. Not everyone is willing to sacrifice their life for the good of the world. But there is so many small things people can do practically without effort that would make a huge difference if everyone did them.
People should take responsibility for their own share of the world instead of hiding behind what the masses do and do not.
Ballistic: What are you saying with that link? I think we are all aware of the fact that there are unresponible mothers out there. |

What do you think you are accomplishing with your messages then if you don't have any kind of point to make? Any logic or reason behind your opinions you'd tell. |

Wow... im really gonna head for the breatheterian llifestyle. Think about it, live only on air, sounds so healthy...
No seriously. I've been a lakto-ovo-vegetarian for almost three years now. And I've decided to go back to eating some meat. Of course its possible to survive on a vegetarian diet. But i wanna do more than just survive. I've noticed that wounds heal more slowly, my nails get broken alot, i have dry skin, im tired alot. I've seen/heard of these effects on other vegetarians. Dont know if they would admit it though... I think most of it comes from the lack of protein. Of course i could eat some more protein but I dont wanna eat til I explode. Besides I got better stuff to do than to eat all the time.
But i still think that a lot of animals are being treated wrong. I will therefor preferably eat fish and wildcaught animals. |

veggie_iller:
Most common thing what vegetarians lack is the vitamin b12. B12's primary function in the body is the formation of the red blood cells. I think that might explain the slower healing of your wounds if you are low on that.
another possibity could be anemia = a lack of iron.
Iron is easily found from many vegetables and do not require too much eating. You just have to know what to eat. (And same goes for protein by the way.)
B12 you can get from meat, milk products, eggs or as a vitamin suplement. It is a water solulable vitamin and therefore does not store up in the body for long. It is best to get some of it every day.
Hope this helps. |
