ChiaNi: Wow my deepest thanks. I had such a big grin after seeing that I decided to paint it . This one was easy to do as it always seems to be when I am happy.
Mon: Wow another great one. Don't know what else to say really other than I really hope you do more .
Tyler Durden: Good work love the highlight on the forehead
This one is dedicate to ChiaNi.

Tyler Durden, Lionel -- Thanks guys!!
Duracel -- Great job! easily the best one yet, lots of character and emotion. You nailed the look in the eyes on that one.
"In the autumn of my madness when my hair is turning grey
for the milk has finally curdled and I've nothing left to say
When all my thoughts are spoken (save my last departing birds)
bring all my friends unto me and I'll strangle them with words
In the autumn of my madness which in coming won't be long
for the nights are now much darker and the daylight's not so strong
and the things which I believed in are no longer quite enough
for the knowing is much harder and the going's getting rough
- Keith Reid (lyrics from Procol Harum "In Held 'Twas In I")

Props to Durden and Mons....
and of course Chiani.
Wow.
This is another sad attempt at a quick self-study. My colors are a bit off (just a bit?) and it's not that great a likeness......... so does it even count? _________________ X's make me happy. |

cg -- thanks! I'm not quite done with that one yet though, I think I'll be able to squeeze a little extra juice out of those funky balloon-people in the background (and once again, that's not entierly my idea, anyone who's into the works of Dave McKean might be able to spot them in "Signal To Noise")
ChiaNi -- Thank you! I seem to make them pretty dark these days, must be that time of the year
Lionel --
Ranuzan -- =)
I'll be going on a vacation now, one week of skiing in the north of Sweden. See you all in a week, then I'll be back with even more mentally divergent stuff!
Cheers!

Well, I've been reading this board for long enough without ever posting... so here it goes.
Although I am a miserable artist, I keep trying endlessly. And since everyone was willing to post pictures of themselves, here is mine!
I tried to capture how crappy I looked at the end of finals week... and I think I did a good job on the "crappy" part.
Well, anyways!
(I have a bunch more of my drawings scanned at my webpage if you care to look and critique) |

zarthsan: If you keep trying you will improve quickly .
Kinten: The colors look good in that one
gArGOyLe^: It looks a bit yellow try adding some more reds
worthless_meat_sack: I know the feeling I keep spending to long one these and feelng like a zombie at work :/
ChiaNi: That one is very very cool. I love the background
Gecko: I love the idea of using arrows that one is cool
oDD: Thanks a lot these are more exercises than paintings that are good to look at but I am gradually learning how to make them more interesting. I need to learn a lot more about compersition though :/.
Here is a much quicker one.

wow, you guys really are supergood.
I had to try this one too.
I did kindof cheat, I eyedropped the colors for the sketch from a photo, and kindof took the contures from the photo.
But it's all painted none the less.

Maura: Cool black and white sp. Love the way you have simplified thouse shapes
Paavo: It is good to start somewhere. I kep meaning to do that at some stag to try and seee what colors are actually there in real life. It is a shame you can't do with paint in real life .
jeromoo: Rocking sp. I need a hair cut badly so I will hopefully have a change of hair style soon . Yea I know some of these get a little boring. I just sometimes get annoyed with a particular aspect of my painting and some of these become a way of working at that.
I started off this one then went to the pub half way through which meant I had to finish it off in a rush when I got back. Try to guess which bits are before and after .

Lionel: I like the one you spend more time. The one befor last one.
Paavo: the Cheating one is better.
Jeromoo: I like your style a lot. The deco is great. Do we look alike?Yes. I use mouse to paint. except few selfpotrat on this thread between page 15 to 18 I think I use webcome tablet and painter 7 to paint. After I back from vacation. I use mouse and PhotoShop 5.5 again. Thank you for your kind word. Your art impressed to me too.
Kinten: thanks.

Chiani, good work.
The 100. plz complete out of your own.
Lionel, high-saturated Backgrounds is no good solution most time.
But its one of your best selfportraits i think.
jeromoo, Norman Rockwell, perhaps, hehe ... but well, he is a better Painter, and that matters, or?
Like your colorfull work and the lines in the background
Craig, "I think i captured that i should go to bed" Yep, i think your right
Those portraits really look like what this sentence descripes ... well, so, great expression, right? _________________ Lars Gtze
