Pretty good... Not sure if you're planning on taking it further, but if so, there are two things that bug me a little bit. First is the shape of the tail. I think the lump on the bottom of the curve kind of breaks the flow. The thing would look a lot more sleek and alive if it was one smooth curve, I think. Secondly, the right hand looks like it's on backwards... Don't know if that was intentional or if I'm totally misreading the intended form, but it kind of throws me off. |

i agree with tinuschabout the right hand. the thumb is on the wrong side, or at least it looks like it is.
about the lump on the tail, i was thining its not a lump but rather that some of the tail and the rest of the body was immersed a little in the sand or whatever.
another thing that bothers me though is that the right arm loots like its co,ing out of the ribs rather than the shoulder, or it's too low anyhow.
btw, if it swims unterwater, doesnt it need a fin?
very nice drawing anyhow.
oh wait. i think i get it now. its like a newborn trying to get into the ocean from where it was laid on the beach, right? |

yes hand is badly drawn... sorry
i didn't actually think of how to do it... i just needed to get it layed down before i get bored of the idea
it is a creature living in desert. it will never even walk. but every day it is watching birds and dreaming of fliyng... on this pic it's watching them and pretending to fly... as much as his massive tail and hands designed for crawling allow it.
thanx for the comments
i have 2 old pics of almost the same creature

"m703-324" the first one is really worth go on working with! I take it as an outline and as such it is perfect - it really captures a feeling with the bend of the neck and the powerful movement of her (?) arms and the back connected to them. Its very dramatic and I would like to see what you can make of it. Give it a new try, please!
(there is something with her hand but I think the thumb is right - there is something missing, though, at her wrist... )
I like the last one as well. _________________ Art has no key - it can always be improved. Therefor your work can never be finished. Take it as a challenge! |
