Nice work you guys!!
I have a lot of catching up to do and ive started to paint/draw alot more now so i will join you guys soon. I notice that many here is doing more varied pieces stylewise than before and i think it's a great thing.

Great drawing discussion also! I really enjoyed reading it and i agree that drawing is one of the strongest points in creating a picture. My advise would be to do as many different drawings as possible in order to expand and try to draw an object a little different each time to avoid getting stuck. I've just
found Robert Valleys work and i really recommend to take some time and look through his work if you want some inspiration to draw more. those who likes Bill Sienkewich will approve i think:)

I've always looked at myself as too dependent on lines in my work and catch myself doing linedrawings over and over when i rather would like to learn new things. I've set new goals for me now that it's a new year and all
to really trying to improve in my weakest areas. I hope i can use this Speed thread to dump my attempts;)

Spooge, i've never looked at you as a bad drawing artist. I've seen your
sketches before and they look great. , but the stuff you have put out lately looks damn fantastic!!. I can clearly see what you are doing and i admire the time you spend in trying to improve your drawing skills. You have put out so many different styles and approaches i never imagined could come from just one individual. It clearly proves the point that one can alway get better and always stretch the talent and skills further. I wish you luck in your quest!

Beat: I really like your new work!! We have'nt spoked for a while and i havent really been much active around here. Will drop you a few lines later
this evening. Hope you are doing well:) I saw the Wendling book that you sent Joachim and wow!! very good indeed! How come France have all the good Female artists?! Unfair.

Perhaps I should stop with being so sensitive all the time but I guess I started a good conversation then, so thank for the insights there dudes. Smile

Max, I know your secret now dude. Smile I bought the Lord of the rings "two towers" book yesterday and damn I say, sweet work indeed and of course I had to do something similar.

Bennet and Falzone inspired piece, damn nice concepts.

1. A random sulky person:

2. Me and my pouchie:

Me and Stella (my giant pouched rat) got woken up at 4:30 this morning by a fire drill. Well, she was pretty pissed at getting dragged downstairs for nothing, and she kind of flipped out in the elevator on the way back up. She was in a cat carrier, of course, so she couldn't really hurt anyone, but she was jamming her nose through the bars, biting stuff, and stamping her feet. There was this guy standing across from me with tattoos all over his arms--the sort of dude you wouldn't expect to be afraid of an innocent wee pouchie--but he didn't take his eyes off her. He was all scrunched up in the corner, all "oh no! It's a scary animal!", and Stella was all "Kill! Kill! Kill!", and I was all "ha, ha!". Yeah. Anyway. You'd have thought she was really the size I drew her in this cartoon, the way this dude was looking at her. She's really a cute little critter, though. Harmless. Well, she bites, but apart from THAT, she's harmless.

Ten: I don't think you need that much.
Even when I posted in the 500 list thread and the speedpainting thread I never had more than 1GB / month.
Now I have more because I post at conceptart.org too.
I guess it is different when you post twice on each page of this thread.

It also depends on how much you compress you images.

Don't go to one of the big hosting providers.
You'll just pay for the name.

If you go to liquenox.net you can choose your webspace and bandwidth.
If you find out that you need more later you can change it.

Crap ... but fast crap:

and here's another complementarycoloursarenice-image, no form, no thought Rolling Eyes

and here's a question to all you people who've mastered your wacom, I can't at all maka as straight lines with my tablet as with a real pencil, all faces, people, birdes, horses, whatever look weird of this reason, how do you people do it? Hopefully there's another answer to that question then practice Wink

Bjotto: you can hold down the shift button while pressing here and there at the canvas, and a straight line will be made betwen the clicks, or if you wanna go freehand, the trick is to make really fast strokes, and hope you get it right, if not, press undo and do it over and over again, until the line meets the point you want. or you can zoom in alot wich gives you more control of the surface OR you can make a path and stuff wich is way too not speedy....hehe. I myself use the fast stroke approach, I've filmed myself with camtasia and I was shocked to se how many times I actually re make the strokes ahahaha...

this is an example where almost all those black strokes were made over and over again until they got "right"

Thanks flushy, you said some new things and confired stuff I allready know and by doing that you've probably helped me to start using them

and here's a little image made with a mouse, it was quite intresting to make, because I had to paint slowly, to get the brushstrokes right and I also had to make them shorter, and it gave me more time to think. That thing lying on the ground looks allmost lika a person Wink

hopefully I'll have time to make another one today

bjotto & Capt: Thought I'd add my 2 cents to the straight line chat.
In Painter I sometime use the shift option but you are limited to horizontal, vertical & 45 deg. Paths can be used for other angles but I find those lines too mechanical and lifeless. I use a small set square on my tablet and although the hand-eye co-ordination takes a little getting used too at first, it works great. When I've got a bit more time I've used french curves and elipse guides, although they are a bit trickier to line up (especially the elipses).
Cheers,
M
