Same Open-Canvas Session, but messed up not only the mouth region.
@Spooge, i love her nose!
btw, a question i ask myself everytime i see your pictures is, how you decide the "aspect-ratio" of every single piece(so i start most times with 4:3 and thats it) ... so do you "crop" your images, or do you just start with something special? If cropping is your way .. do you crop when you finished a piece, or after defining the first shapes or just anytime between?? _________________ Lars Gtze

duracel, thanks, glad something was OK
as far as aspect ratio, I have no set procedures. Crop early, late, ad early, add late. "that leg looks bad, I dunno how to fix it... oh, I know how to Fix it..." slice. Curious question, though what brings it to mind?
This thing was for that myth women thing. I checked out the competition and realized I had no chance no matter what I did so I stopped and set in some old stuff. Never did or will get back to it, so it gets dumped on your unsuspecting eyes.

Spooge, thanks for the answer.
It came up in mind because - while i just start with a standard form which i don't change while painting - i really like how your pictures didnt look like make fitting perfect into those borders but instead the borders seem in a way natural and underlining the emotion of the whole; like the borders "are just perfect as they are" but not straight perfect in a mathematic way like the 'golden section' or soemthing. _________________ Lars Gtze

Only to be able to say how I like the mermaid of mister demon I post this speedy crap:
I like the mermaid mostly for its chliche colors. Normaly you would not choose the most obvious color for ... lets say the fish tail. But this time you did it - brown hair, pink skin, green tail, yellow sunlit rocks, green foliage . Almost like a cartoon but rendered in your style, thats great! You know, I like cartoon colors.
I really would be curious how you would render donald duck... _________________ Que la fuerza te acompae! |
