Capt. Fred, XIA and all thanks.
Matthew > Should we start a new thread for that comic-thingy? It could really get some attention.
Anyways, it's an idea too succulent to waste.
No effects used, just experimenting with queer brushes. A bit Metal-Gearish outcome.

FLuo, hehe that is me. It looked a little familiar. We had some drainage problems that morning and I was out cleaning up. It is a great way to wake up when you hear "honey, I don't mean to bother you, but there 4 inches of water in the basement..."
Ceenda, that is a really different image from you. I think you have improved greatly in the past few years.
Duracel, that does not ring a bell. I painted dome air conditioners into an Interview with the Vampire matte. The compositors found them. Damn
Lemur, that doesn't look familiar either... Maybe from one of the FF mattes?
Inshield, thanks for the tip. I normally would just shrug, but I sent and email anyway. It will be ignored. I have a folder with that kind of thing in it, and it is getting full.
Stewart one, thanks! Umm there is quite a bit more on my site if you want.
Shagmunky that is really nice!
Freebooter, what is your drawing background? I am guessing comics?
This BG is a bit of homage to a Bouguereau, but it really is generic.

Freebooter, thanks for bringing it up, I made a thread just some hours ago in the digital art discussion where we can discuss how we should take the comic thing further. Feel free to add your thoughts there.
Here's the adress to the comic discussion thread:

Quick crap pic to go with the post

Thanks for the updates to your site, will take look! |

Sorry no pic, just can't keep up with you guys.
Spooge>
Freebooter has a strong career in comics that has lasted for more than 19 years. Dammit, the bastard is barely an adult and still keeps kicking my butt.
Freebooter> Hell yeah bro! |

I'm new here. Still trying to figure out the painting thing. I'm a noodler at heart I guess... I'm not sure if it ever happens in this thread, being new and all, but C+C is always welcome on my shite.
Great work here, look forward to posting and seeing more here!

Allpeter : not from dhabih ? it's just a googled movie still if i remember correctly
Spooge : dunno wich is worse but I hate : "Mornin' honey ! I'm late for work I gotta run !! OH Btw ...the dog had a diarhea attack this night ... have a nice day !"
Ultrahsu : love the ninja eyes !
Questions : I see two words being used, Midtones and Halftones.
a- Is there a difference ?
b- If yes, is it the same kind of difference as in Chroma vs Sat or Brightness vs Lightness ? Like one is the 50 % gray of the absolute 'absence of light' black to the 'youre-gonna-be-blind' white scale and the other is the middle value of any given scale ?
thank you
mmm yeah finally commisionned work !! first ever hehe , colour Roughs for an obscure ad campaign ( details )
(rejected - badly briefed =P )
(accepted)

Wow, I'm scared to post now.
Spooge, you're amazing. Why must you make every brush stroke look so godlike?
Freebooter, lovely character. It DOES remind me a lot of Metal Gear Solid.
Matthew, nice village. You're developing like crazy. Or evolving into some scary art God perhaps. It's just a matter of time. RUN FOR THE HILLS!
Shagmunky, awesome style. I'll never underestimate MS Paint again.
Paint to post!
Gah! Remind me not to eyeball perspective again. If anyone has any perspective advice for Photoshop or so, please let me know. In fact, criticise all you want, it only makes my newbie artistic side grow. Tell me, is overpainting 3d primitives a blasphemious sin? I'm tempted to do so right now. GUAR! |

This is just a doodle playing around with layer settings in PS. I normally don't use effects that affect the way colours behave, because I always feel I loose alot of learning/understanding concerning the hows and whys about colour by doing it. But everytime I colour with filters/effects and remind myself of how much quicker and handier the shortcut really is I feel sick just thinking about the hardships colouring without it.
