Chruser, hey I made an overpaint for you since u asked some things and it is not a perfect overpaint but maybe some things u can pick up from it.
Anyway, I made it simple and this is really a good way to work all the time especially if you wanna work fast too.
With trees and surrounding it is good to fake atmosphere so a color in the back can really stay with one stroke and it can still look like houses or mountains. Darks are always the closest to the viewer and the more pale it becomes the more in the back it is.
Some colors can boost distance too and especially those bright ones, orange and yellow, can make things look closer.
Just stay with and keep painting and u are gonna pick up tips here and there and learn more stuff.
