tips on how to improve this would be appreciated.
I'm finding it difficult. And really not looking forward to trying to tighten up the blue room in the middle.. gonna be tough. If any one says 'anatomy' I'll kill them! That's not my biggest concern right now, I believe. If you say anything else though, then I'll be most grateful :)

I think the main thing that I can say is that my head get's a little distracted trying to figure out if this is suopposed to be a fish eye perspective, or if it's just supposed to be a curved door. If it's a curved door, some linear feature to the side of the door or something, redifining the perspective in the space may be helpful to the viewer.
I think what it is with that is that you would expect a round door, but your mind tells you that the curve of the door doesn't lead you to a circle. also the mop that he's holding has a curved handle, further confusing the viewer.
I know you're not done with it yet, however, the way I would approach this picture at the moment would either to shove it closer into the monochromiatic blue value scale, or at least keep it ot a couple of colours, perhaps complimentary to make areas of the picture stand out better.
Just realized I may be babbling on about stuff that you may already know. If so I apoligize, but that's my two cents. |

Hey Captain, faeklone is a bit right about the perspective. I didnt really get the impression of a fisheye going on, but if you look at the curved doors and some of the other perspective stuff, you could think so I guess.
I do like how the room lighting is blue and not the whole image has the blue tint, though.
What distracts me most is actually the watery trail from the mop, it jumps out too much, too big white highlight and black thing going on.
Hope I helped a bit. |

The curved doors are ok as is.
The straight lines at the top and bottom
make it clear that it's not fish-eye.
The fish-eye effect comes from the width
of the pockets that the doors retract into.
They are too wide and make it look like
the left and right edges of the pockets
rotate forward. Adjust the perspective
there where the areas are that the doors
retract in to, and it will be fine. |
