After too many years of dreaming, I'm starting to have dreams that refer back to scenes, characters and situations in past dreams, rather than reality. Its quite interesting... there seeming to be this other dimension alive and well in my mind, like another world with relationships, etc. I've awakened a few times to recall that what I was dreamiing about was someone or something I knew in the past... and it takes me a few moments to figure out whether it was in this reality or not. Interesting stuff, considering the dreams, situations, clothing, etc. are all in this time i.e. not period pieces from past lives... if there are past lives...

I look forward to them, 'cause they're fun... Smile

I have the same kind of dreams. A dream will refer back to an old dream, sometimes years old, and would completely boggle my mind when I wake up, because those old dreams are not remembered when I'm awake, but somehow are kept in my subconscious. It's like when you're dreaming, you're accessing a world you have no knowledge of when you're awake. But if the same reference is made more than once, then I'll remember it when I'm awake, simply because of repetition of something so odd.

Yeah, I also have dreams that refer to older dreams.
But on top of that dreams have the power to make something seem familiar, and give you the sensation of familiarity when presenting you with something or someone that doesn't exist in real life.

Infuriatingly I get dreams which are so great "all your dreams come true stuff" that I'm puffing in over-excitedness 'this can't be real' it must be a dream and all that, and I pinch my face and slap my skin and shout really loud, and so it must be real afterall, which of course it's not. Eventually I wake up and am sorely disappointed. On occasion (2 or 3 times) I've woken up as many as 3 times before waking up into this world, and the experience is exactly the same as waking for real, despite wildly changing circumstance - it always feel absolutely normal, apart from the bizarre residue of a dream fading from your mind.

Last night I had a new dream experience. It was a dream within a dream. I dreamt that I was waking from a dream that I rememberd. However, I would fall back into the dream (within the dream) and awake from the dream and recall it while in a different situation. Eventually - in my dream - I wasn't sure whether I was in the dream within the dream or just the dream. It got a bit confusing, though very interesting.

I suspect this thread has something to do with it....

The subject was my father's passing and how it was handled in the family, though the dream was completely different on that situation from what actually happened.... strange!

I know what you are talking about fred. Those kind of dreams make me depressed sometimes. But all I need is a good woman Rolling Eyes to take that depression away Laughing

I just spent all night running away from zombies. Very vivid images even though it wasn't as exciting as other zombie dreams somehow. Could draw storyboards of some scenes as I saw them in the dream. It was mainly in a large underground hall, I remember running from a horde and asking someone else running next to me if our keys open a door up ahead, and they said yes. I ran for the door with the key, and noticed a single zombie running to catch me. I tossed the key to a friend and said "take the key, in case it gets me" and then the zombie pounced me. I wrestled it and snapped its neck, and we fled through the door.

No fear. I didn't realize I was dreaming, but the setting was more like a video game somehow. The zombies came in waves, and in between waves people who got killed the last time around were brought back.

My favourite dreams are when I have Ninjas and Pirates fighting an epic battle, but then they join forces and enlist the help of robots to fight off the impending zombie apocalypse. The pirates shoot flaming bears at the zombies whilst the ninjas fire there razor-sharp swords like rockets and the robots push the zombies down the stairs to protect us.

I think Patrick Duffy makes a cameo too, but it's a gimmick thing.

eyewoo and capt. fred>

in my dreams, i get scared of falling asleep in the dream. i dont know y, but everytime i get uncontrollably sleepy in my dream, and am walking around somewhere, the last thing i want to do is fall asleep. at times, its because i'm afraid of sleeping in the open, or that i'm actually thinking, "DONT FALL ASLEEP INSIDE A DREAM OR ELSE U WILL NEVER WAKE UP" and so i struggle, pinch myself, hit myself, but I don't wake up. Smile glad i havent had the latter in a while. Being aware and not being able to control/wake up is scary Razz

I've decided to do a research paper for english class on lucid dreaming.
It won't have the boring facts. I mean, it HAS to give some, but I will try to make it more interesting by giving not so personal dreams in the paper, and sayign whether, while researching, I was finally able to become lucid. After, or IF i succeed, like I did last week, I will then try to control.
This way, the teacher can really say I learned something out of this Smile.

i think its a nice topic. i'll get in touch with the scientific and religious opinions on this . Perhaps i'll post the paper here... It'll be 8 pages long though.
keep the comments and dreams coming guys Very Happy
