I hardly even want to read through this thread, it’s so brimming with “Women are stupid, and women suck” attitudes.
I’m sorry, guys, but we’re no more stupid than you are. I don’t even want to count the amount of guys that will only go after the good-looking, hard-to-get girls that everyone else wants, as well. It’s more a case of individuals blaming a whole gender for their mishaps.
As a general rule, I have but one tip to give you... don’t be too eager. There is nothing more boring than being chased around by a guy that is so eager to get to you that he’s tripping over his own feet. Desperation, in any form, is everything but attractive.
Guys talk about the ‘clingy’ girls being soooo annoying... but I’m afraid that applies to guys, too.
And as far as all the clever tricks on how to catch a girl - if you start acting as someone you’re not, the girl -will- notice that eventually, and she’ll realise that you’re not the person she fell for.
Thus, “I just want to be friends”. Which is true, in the end.
Eheh... with that said... I shall go crawl back to my corner ;] Have fun... and remember, painting "I'm desperate, pleaaaaaase!!" on your face won't get you laid... it'll get you laughed at. |

Well, Enayla, perhaps you are no more more stupid than we are, but perhaps I am more stupid than you are!
Ever think about that, huh?!?
Hmmm... I wonder if that came out right? |

My advice? (As a female non-artist.)
Everyone get away from your computers right now and meet some people. And talk about something other than photoshop! That is the biggest problem, I've found. GET OVER YOURSELVES AND WHAT YOU DO! If she wants to talk about her travels to Bali, for God's sake, listen to her! Don't cut her off and tell her (for the 4th time that night!) the intricate details of your new tablet... Trust me - I've sat through hours and hours and hours of this stuff - your artistic abilities and interest in computers is charming - but in small doses. I bet she has equally, if not better, non-artistic talents than you do! If you open up the conversation to other topics once in awhile, you'll be amazed at what you can learn!
Just my personal experience. |

A good topic for discussion at the candle light dinner is always pregnancy prevention. This way you're gonna prevent pregnancy for sure. |

it takes me an age to reply to anything...
edraket - gracias, guapo...
666[FLAT] - erm. my boyfriend would most likely object...
Bomu - hey, good to see ya here as well... how's it goin'? As for women's lib - well, I'm constantly spending money on my boyfriend, it's always my phone bill, I pay his petrol, drinking money, and everything. AND I HATE IT! but then, he's currently a penniless overdrawn student, and I have a 200 per week job...
so much for liberation, eh??
Razzak - no big deal. I've heard much worse things from much worse people, and in real life too... :\
Awetopsy - yeah, sufficiently suck-uppy... I guess...
oh, and btw - I'm a computer-addicted freak-girl, and an artist. So I should be an ugly vampiric-type living in a pile of dirty washing eating cheerios off the floor and playing Quake II, right? Okay, okay, well apart from the Cheerios bit... :\
me with red hair in Barcelona! hah!
(sorry, it be freeservers and made of poo)
nah, my hair is no longer orange. It is big, manga-looking and brown. Pah.
Pix <<is weeeerd.

Artists and non-artists is a problem some times! I think it's because once you really get into art, your views on things are very affected by it. I go to art school, and a lot of my friends outside of school are doing something artistic in one way or the other. So talking to someone that is not doing art or thinking in a artistic way feels really strange sometimes, I'm like: "what the do they do all day long if they don't think about art?!", and "how can anyone NOT be into art?!" . I guess I get a little bit caught up in it some times... But it sure is nice to talk about something else for a change, thats why I like to have non artistic people around (need to find more of them to get me balanced, hehe).

Bungee: I don't think anyone here is like that in real life. A person has to be pretty darn self-centred and stupid to only talk about its own art, photoshop and tablets.
And IMO people should try to meet halfway, why should only girls be allowed to talk about their interests, while guys should just shut up and listen? Girls can have interests just as boring as the ones some guys have. Although this is not a problem for me I like to listen and haven't got a need to talk about myself all the time.
But, its probably easy to get that picture of people here because this place is all about us, our art, photoshop and tablet stuff.
Pixie Nim: I spot Gaudi architecture! Did you like Barcelona? I really want to go there, but then again, I want to go everywhere I havent been =) |

zaar: Those comments come from my personal experience. Wasn't at all saying everyone here is like that. Just giving an outsider's view. And it's not about guys and girls. It's more artists and non-artists. Maybe my experience is an exception, but, man, it was frustrating. Nothing was interesting to him, other than his limited topics. Ya know? Sorry if it came across wrong... |

zaar - yeah, I loved Barcelona! I managed to go in the middle of summer, so it was glorious weather - blue skies, sunny every day, too hot to wear trousers sort of weather. Fantastic. That photo was taken in Park Guell (which you may or may not have heard of) - but you're right, Gaudi architecture... amazingly impressive stuff... I could've spend all day in that park, it was stunning...
They actually have little green parrots in the parks amoung the boring ole pigeons and stuff, too!
If you get the opportunity, definately go there... the people are lovely, the city is something to be seen, the shopping is great ('specially since you can shop in the afternoon and evening, since siesta time shuts all the shops from 12 onwards-ish)... and you don't even need to know any spanish (well, much!)
no me hablo espanol, ni un pequito...

Hi ya Pixie! You sound like my kinda girl! Why don't you ditch this guy of yours and come stay with me for a while? I could do with the cash! ^o^ j/k
Seriously though, you sound like a rare breed! Most girls I know wont part with a penny and when they do, they go on and on about it, as though they're the most generous people in the world, or they pretend to be ok with it, but really think you're a b@stard for taking their money!
Oh, and on the note of spending money on phoning and text messaging every 5 minutes- Just don't do it! You give a girl your phone number and they'll text you every 5 -10 minutes with stupid msgs like "I'm bored, what shall I do?" or, "I bought some new clothes today". And then they get angry if you don't reply to each msg! It's annoying *Is speaking on the behalf of every guy he's ever known* What idiot invented the telephone anyway? I'll call him up and give him a piece of my mind!
Liser, at the end of the day, it sounds like you're already half way there! Things'll probably change when you get outta education and into 'the real world'. Just don't set your sights too high or too low.
And Sure, there's hope for everyone. There's a lot of girls that would want to go out with a fat, spotty computer nerd, but most likely, they too will be fat, spotty computer nerds! Everyone will still be happy as long as you can find someone compatible with you, it doesn't really matter. |

666 [FLAT] - erm, again I must refuse, sadly. I don't have IRC. Yeah... that's my reason... honest.
And those photo pages are clearly custom pages that haven't been fiddled with. I don't really give a crap. That website is for pic posting and I have a new gallery hosted at my mate Fluffy's site. So they're not my photos, either.
Bomu - yeah, well, people accuse me of being too masculine a lot. Or sometimes. A rare breed, eh? I'll have to let my boyfriend know that one! (heehee - evil plots forming!) and the money thing should be sorted by thursday, with a bit of luck... student loan! aha!
Ugh, men. Hate 'em!
(look, I'm generalising in just as bad a way...)

Been thinking about this some lately, I think that it takes someone with a little bit different perspective to appreciate someone that is a little bit different than what hollywood says is attractive.
Sometimes we think that if someone rejects us they must be better than we are, but I think it is more often because they are stupider, or because we are fools for going after them.
My fiancee is a million times better for me and and prettier, and loves me a million times more than any of the girls that ever rejected me.
Learn something from ever try and keep going. Worked for me... |
