I'm seriously considering getting a tattoo, and I want it to be a symbol of Wind. I've searched, and i couldn't really find anything simplistic and easily recognizable.
I'm wondering, would anyone here know of a symbol for wind, with clean, simple lines. Or even better, anyone have any ideas? This is an art forum with very talented artists, after all. |

I think i've seen 3 wavey lines used normally.
curved lines with a couple of bends in, running horizontally, all the same, like a few sin waves (in phase) one above the other.
edit
actually I think I might be making this up.
Come to think of it i've only seen that symbol used for wind in context of land rovers and off-roading. |

3 wavey lines might also be interpreted as water...
Perhaps a tree as if it is being blown hard in a hurricane.
The cartoonish wind is a full cloud with a face and mouth that is blowing out wind. _________________ HonePie.com

In the movie the 5th Element they had a wind symbol. I think it may have been the 3 wavey lines as Capt Fred described. But its easy to check if you need to know. |

These are exact replicas of the elements from The 5th Element. The leftmost is the wind element:
