Too many people to mention...
Annis: I started oils recently. They don't behave like Photoshop I'm a bit too spontaneous and end up accidentally mixing colours on the canvas.
Bah. As speedy as I'll get - or as unfinished as i'm willing to leave something.

Annisahmad: Thanks! You're right about painter oils, they're quite different from real paint. But you can still do nice things with them.
Squarepixel: Cool environment.
Watmough: Great texture and nice reflections. Glad you like the WC, that's a big compliment since you're the one that got me trying them out in the first place. The surface is watercolourpaper with a very rough texture, the brand is Dutch (Terschelling from Schut) Really great paper, I guess a bit like Arches.
mant-raz: Welcome, promising start!
Gouache experiments:
They look like criminals haha |

yarik, don't try to be that fast, if 7 minutes aren't enough for you to get it right, take as much as you need. Try to paint with less strokes more effective, you can try around long, and only if you get it right with your first strokes, you will see why those rough paintings in here are called "speedpaintings"; but the speed is not that important, it just comes along with as less strokes as possible.
I bet your painting is the fastest on the last ten pages, but it doesn't make it any better.
So take your time and try it again.
Here is a repaint i did to show you in this simple example what it's all about, keep it simple but effective:

Sweet tips, If you ever make a video recording of something simple, please don't hesitate to share
That's a good way too learn for me.

Watmough, thx. Like especially the textures and composition in all of your pictures.
choboroy, cool simple speedy!
luc, the ship is excellent!
buzzzz3D - like this girl (face-profile)
pixel farmer - spooge last post in this forum is some months back - guess he needs some speedpaintingbreak ... but he'll come back, im sure!
Igino, your batman is great!
Capt.Fread, like your mountain diver!
Vyle, your mount_J is fantastic - great work with hard and softedges, texture in the stone and just gradients for sky and snow.
Here is mine - based upon a speedy a friend did *click here for the initial painting*:

Ok, last on was crap. Ctrl+N blank screen !!
I tried to do aproximately the same pose
Tried to simplify the shapes by working with the only big round brush.

Guess I won't be a stick in the mud today and make some comments:
Buzz3d, I really like the simplicity of that female head, gives me the urge to get back to figure drawing (attempting anyway)
Godwin, i've never had the paitience for scenes like that beach environment you threw down; very painterly looking.
JFB, Hideyoshi and Luc, all of your paintings demonstrate a command of personal style that I can't seem to get going for me. It's impressive.
Miles, I've been wondering the same thing about spooge, his paintings were always great to come across in these threads.
annisahmad, you've been working a lot harder than I have and it really shows. How much has it set you back financially to get into real life oil painting?
SummerPudding, thats both cool and very weird. Maybe you should finish it?
Squarepix, Misc and Duracel, those are both quick and awesome. I've really got to break away from these 3+hour speed paints to try and improve my fundamental set ups more quickly, I think.
Bukow, nice style.
watmough, your one of the best, I think.
Jr, pretty cool and impressive style.
P-rik, that's more of the kind of work I need to be doing. Seems like there's so much that needs to be done to improve in abalanced way.
mant-raz, there's real life in your work, I'm always so afraid to experiment with color.
Skurai, me too.
I've got to post more frequently if I want to keep that up; -Got UT2k4 on the brain lately... dunno why.

Zhuzhu, I've envied your anat skill for a long time, and your use of color is top notch..
Squarepix, your color tones are a lot more muted than I can bring myself to implement (cause I'm hooked on cheap tricks), and it really fools the eye well when you squint- Almost looks realish..
Nice work ant.
Still thinking UT, even if I'm the only one who sees it :p
which is often the case with what I do.
