Thanks People! The chrismasbreak painting-rush is so inspiring!
FallDamage: Thanks for the link. Looks like my last visit to the masters site was way too brief.
Duracel, Veege, ax-hv
Flaskpost: I thought ist was easier, but you choose a difficult pose with difficult lighting. I hope I did something similar to what you intended.
The third in the row is just al little texture experiment, eyecandy, nothing serious.

Nag, really great
Miles, yea, sd is good at what he does.
I dunno, it seems to me that I finish a study, and then I'm like, well that was fun, and I zone out and employ none of what I learned unless I constantly monitor myself.
For example, here's a number of poorly combined, disparate elements stitched together with as much cheese as I could muster. Nice. Just pretend it's 98, dodge and burn are brand new, and you have no idea who Greg Martin is.
I'll definitly be more concientous of learnings in the future, I think.[/img] |

ax--hv -- Amazing brush strokes in the darkman, and the mask --UAU!--Almost a photo, excelent!
Falldamage -- That Desert image with that somekind of pyramid is very inspiring! Good colors
Flaskpost -- I like that graphic style.

Great job guys - I'll try to start making positive contributions to this thread in some decent time period.
Surely this is an improvement from my last attempt (pg 701 on this thread)?? : )

Here is my first (post & painting).
I was really feeling the creativity after watching Darko. After remembering this thread I decided to paint.
I usually read or program. Quite a change, though I do love art.
Duracel, Naglfar, Metaborg...
Inspirational.

Thanks all!
In a hurry, but wanted to wish every damn fine artist here a Happy ending of the old year and a awesome new year!
cheers
Falldamage, I am working as a LevelDesigner at Massive Entertainment located in Malmoe / Sweden, www.massive.se
btw, I love the last studdy, the contrast is splendid, however, don't forget to studdy other kinds of lighting scenarios more. It is much harder to depict a multilit scene, now THAT will toy with a brain.
remember, everything is beautiful when its backlit.
The reason why I am babbling about this is because I do exactly the same thing. I often find myself practicing stuff I pretty much already have a pretty good grasp of. And that is a key WHY we feel we evolve so slow.
That is what I think of it anyways.
GardenGnome
Nice execution!
Damn, I was in a hurry!
Great art beeing posted here. Keep it up all!
edit:
Made this little tune yesterday instead of painting, about 1 hour put into it.
So it's a speed song,
http://www.diduct.com/music/big.mp3
haha, what a cheep thing to replace a picture with,

Whoa Allpetter, nice music skills there, eh. Totally reminds me of some sort of snes/psx synth rpg type tune, which is a good thing. I started listening to it as I finished this particular study, and the music seemed to fit the painting(maybe the original better than my version :p). I don't know if this sort of crit is helpful, but I find it stronger in the beginning than the middle, and then better towards the end again (not sure why as I have no musical experience).
You're right about my need for diversity tho.
OMi kun, nice colors there.
SD study.

thx falldamage, you've inspired me to paing some sceneries
allpetter: Please make more! I started listening to it and it ends too soon! Had to play it on repeat for a long time. Love the mood of the song, what program did you use? I liked how you build up the music. Postal Service does that too, but they eliminate some of the earlier instruments, or parts of it, as more sounds at added. It doesn't sound so overwhelming, but I think that's what you were going for. My only crit is that I wish you would have made it longer

Seth, very nice color and form. Things are paying off for you. Definite improvement over past works.
Bg nice.
Omi, great colors, looks like you put thought into that one, not so sloppy as my earlier post.
Just screwin around tryin to trick myself into enjoying anatomy. Man, I don't know why but I hate doing features and human form. My bro got me some anat resources for xmas, knowing my incompitance with such things, and I've only had the guts to break into them now.
