Weird colours, crappy perspective and on top of it I have a feeling I'm ripping off Scott Robertson.. oh well

ok. This is not worthy to be on such an outstanding page. Like the last ones quite intimidating. Plus the pressure on job-painting had all my speedpainting time cancelled ! So many wonderful paintings guys!
Falldamage: I just wanted to pass on a tiny piece of experience I collected about quick and good linework: Cartoon artists usually make a wild mess with color pencil and then trace only the good lines on the next sheet. Most important is the flow of the wrist when drawing. I still find it hard to draw with the wacom, even after one year of practice. And judging from your signature (which is probably flashy on paper) you find it hard too. Maybe try on paper first and then scan it. Nice last faces btw! Especially the paintopost one has a looseness that I like a lot. |

My first post in this thread, I'm going to take people's advice and do some serious work on basics and anatomy before I do more fantastical scenes...
If my work is too amateur for this thread I'll stop posting and drop it off in my usual uncommented thread.
Here are a couple lip studies from photo refs:

Thanks for the advice miles, your right about me and my wacom, it's rough.
Luc, yea, I can afford to switch styles on a whim, seein as I'm one of the few non- art proffessionals (or aspiring) around. Or at least I think that's the case- maybe not. Anyone else here just hanging out for the hell of it?
13 minutes, just because I feel a strange need to post daily now.

Okay, it's cute and cuddly and I cheated by just blurring and smudging over a photograph but here! ^_^ It's an onsen Manjyuu (Hot spring bun)
It took like 10 min. _________________ Say whaaaaaaaat? |

Jfb > nice. Another great mood.
CrazyBrush > thanks ! Very crisp picture.Nice treatment of light (i like the ground)
Varg > thanks. You're right i've been into graffiti .Sometimes CG forums look like the graffiti scene (IMHO) : everybody is in a friendly contest and everybody enjoy the progress of others ( very naive vision of the graffiti scene).
Sampster > nice lips ! perhaps the wrinkles are a bit to strong.
Mikko K > thanks ! the wine seems not to disturb you from doing awesome drawings... perhaps i should drink more...
Mitsui > thanks.I like the creature a lot ( and as usual your color scheme, overall composition and the story poping behind)

Good work everyone!
luc thx! (I am enjoying your posts!)
igino - awesome!
Gizmodus - strong, distinctive landscape. Good work
Mikko K - moody and suspenseful.
Mitsui - wonderful
Freebooter - good characterization (imo - the smoke being blown out of his nostrils makes it)
JFB, CrazyBrush - I like both of these enviroments.
