Book cover done for Marek Cardew. This one took a while I have to say, but I'm quite satisfied witht he results. I learned a lot with this piece, especially with regards to skin tones. Enjoy!

Fabulous, I love the textures. The skin has a detailed pourous feel to it. And you can really see the velvety textures of the hat and the dark brown band that runs across it looks very much like it should: leathery and roughened, just as you'd expect. You've also done a tremendous job with her hair. I love the way her hair falls and rests on her shoulder and chest. How it appears fluffy and well conditioned. I find hair to be one of the most difficult things to deal with, and you seem to have mastered it. Great job. |

Joe84: Thank you!
zHowie: Thanks. I did two Master copies before I started this painting, and that helped me a lot to understand skin tones more. Looks like it paid off
Nebulus: I'm glad you appreciate the textures, they took a lot of effort. I do have a tendency to go overboard with them, finding a good balance is one of the most diffiucult things for me. But I'm getting the hang of it You're comment regarding the hair made my day; Hair is difficult for me and very time consuming, and I'm not gonna lie, I hate painting it. Having said that, I tried to render the hair as best as I possibly could, so I'm glad it paid off. Thank you for your kind words. |
