Hey guys :)
I'm about to pass out from working almost 24h now, but I wanted to let you know I just updated my new portfolio with some 10 paintings from the last year or so, probably stuff I haven't posted at sijun at all.
So.... not dead, still painting. me.
http://www.pekuska.com
Rest of the stuff will come later... but if anyone wants to see the old illustrations from 2000-2005 or so, go to:

I hope everyone is doing well, closing in on 10 years of sijun and all..... damn.. _________________ Gecko

Look at all the geriatrics crawling out of the woodwork! Good to see your work again, you've gotten even better. Much less subdued than your older work, as I remember. |

hey hey.
thanks anni, and simon! im afraid i have almost all of the life drawings on display at the old portfolio, i have a few more but they are scattered to some different places (i gave some away) and its almost impossible to get photos of them. i wish i could return to czech republic to do another semester of drawing but i hear the prof. is not teaching there anymore so, i dont know.. not too many contacts left with the school.
suma, yeah this yak dragon painting was actually painted to boost a new portfolio and show that i can do very detailed painting too, since i got a lot of comments always about leaving sketchy parts in my works. if my brain was working properly i'd have posted some closeups, but here they are anyway!
paoo, pringle, thanks dudes!
balistic <3 aww.
thanks tinusch. i've been moving towards more strange techniques and doing more stop motion etc. nowadays... shooting a short film right now. not much to show yet but will be a mix of film, stop motion, animation, and its going to get finished around october.. so, i think all of this is having a very healthy influence on my painting, and it will get more weird.
mitsui man... i paint all the mattes! so fun to realize we've been working on the same movie for months. love the trying to wag scene! i believe its yours!
theinsanelemur yeah! tell me about it!
daryl, i hope youll enjoy the closeups too, if you revisit the thread!
max, this thing was an experiment of looking into abstract-like things for inspiration about subject matter and composition... i took some macro shots and went looking into these detail silhouettes for inspiration, i used the technique for some sketches and paintings but this one i tried not to alter if not absolutely necessary, so as much photo as possible only minimal painting to create a situation, part of story.
waynebebay! thanks a lot!
notic, it was Vysok kola umělecko-průmyslov v Praze, www.vsup.cz in prague, czech republic. loved that experience. anyone who is in their school and has the possibility to do exchange studies.... do it. (pick a country with cheap beer).
mikkok, we are so go.
gLitterbug, thank you dude!
edit: for those that are interested. yeah i also wanted to add that the closeups are still at 50% resolution, the original painting is around 11 000 paintings across... wanted to try out the limits of my cpu, not that it matters much painting wise, probably less of that would have been enough. _________________ Gecko
