Okay, so the datacenter that this server is located in, at The Planet, had a very large transformer short circuit, explode, and then catch fire.

No humans or servers were hurt, but it took out a room of expensive electrical equipment and lots of wiring.

They've been working around the clock on it. Some 9000 internet servers were unreachable for a day and a half to two days. There's more about it at http://forums.theplanet.com/lofiversion/index.php/t90185.html if you're interested.

PS. they're talking about some scheduled downtime this coming weekend to switch from temporary hardware to permanent hardware, but hopefully that will be quick.
