Fun, addictive card game in Flash, by 'Games of Cthulhu'.
..
Been playing and re-playing this for 2 days.
just a little note if you decide to play ...
this wasn't in the 'how to play' section.
when you go insane,
'Megalomania' will increase your Taint and Arcane Power every round.
So while, you will gain the ability to do more damage as every round passes(arcane power),
the Taint will kill you slowly with every turn.
'Schizophrenia' will randomly increase or decrease your Taint, Arcane Power and Elder sign.
..
I'm not quite sure what the other Insanities do,
i think Xenophobia denies you any summoned creatures.
and
agoraphobia, denies you usage of 3 of your 5 cards dealth, till you get sane again... and has to be the worst Insanity.

Is this what a "CCG" is? Just that they'd use a pencil and paper to keep scores?
I hear of CCGs from time to time and wondered how they worked. This game is pretty interesting, although the slow pace it runs at drives me nuts.
Although it might be different if I was playing a human. To the point I've played so far (level 10) I haven't once cared what cards my opponent might have and might play, so I'm probably not playing it properly. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

CCG as in 'Collectible card game' ?
I think its based on that yeah ..
but i did a 10 minute quick search on this exact game,
and does not exist as a real card game.
Only Flash ...
i havent played a CCG since i was 10 or 11 ,
back then i played with the cards that had car pictures on them. haha
But i'm a fan of Lovecraft's stories, and the fabled Necronomicon, and if this game really existed, i'd buy the deck set.
not sure who i'd play with, but i'd get the deck anyway.
..
the game only goes up to level 20 ... like you, i never cared what the opponent had either =]
i would get the 'Stakeout'(reveals opponent's current cards) card once in a
while, and i'd just waste it as soon as i can.
i like the game at higher levels, thats when you can play the 'Insanity' cards.
theres one card that would make both you and the opponent go Insane instantly ... i got freaked out when the computer pulled that hand on his first move.
Me: "right, new game, lets play this slow..."
computer pulls out Insanity card: "no ... lets go insane"
and we both get Meglomania.
..
..
damn i need a life. ahahhaha |

The later levels were more interesting, but never really challenging. I might have died two or three times over the whole game, and didn't take into consideration what the opponent had. I was basically just playing my best card after each wait, so I suspect this isn't representative of real CCGs. I'm sure the real games are a lot more strategic.
Interesting though. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

Thanks for making me waste time on this.
@Suma - this is your first contact with CCG/TCGs ? Never even been touched by Magic before? I've played that when I was still in school after getting a bunch of cards from my uncle he found somewhere. Got my school buddies addicted and at some point they outbought me and were all superior through sheer card superiority rather than trying to play tactical. So that kind of stinks. Since I always tried to build really clever decks but they just put the mightiest shit in and I got ridiculed. Oh the tears.
Either way, this is kind of nice in this game, that you both have the same cards, makes it a lot more simple and kind of defeats the collectible/trading part, but it also makes it more balanced for whatever it's worth.
Now I wonder how the most recent magic cards look like. I imagine them horribly powerful compared to the ones I have stored in my cupboard. |

There was a comic convention a couple of months back,
they were giving away free Limited Magic cards and/or deck ...
the Queue was crazy, coiling around itself it was. |

the opponent has -nil- life ...
you cant kill that which has no life.
