Well, I downloaded the game and it's ok...the graphics look really nice. The UT2003 engine looks good and runs really well too...It's funny when you shoot the drill instructor and get sent to jail. Has anyone actually been able to successfully join a multiplayer game yet?

Ive got a P3 600 at work with 256 Mb RAM and a 16mb TNT2 card and the game runs like garbage.
at home I have a 1.4Ghz with a 64mb Geforce2 and 512 Mb Ram and it runs alot nicer.
Ive only played it for about 5 minutes at home so no I havent managed to play multi yet. Perhaps this weekend.....
the graphics are really nice tho. |

Isn't CrapSpy Arcade required to use multiplayer? If it isn't i'll try it out just to look at UT2003 engin. |

yeah, gamespy arcade is the "official" way to play the game...there's just too many people using it and the servers all have high pings and itiots flooding the chat area...I think you can use gamespy 3d or all seeing eye but I haven't messed around with it much... |

I gave it a chance, I think that the need to send the government the personal results of every level in order to access the next level is a bit much. |

The whole idea is lame and wussy. I just picture some American soldiers in trenches during heavy rain, standing in the mud up to their chin and talking.
One vet. goes: "I remember the good old NAM days.. how we were looking for charlie and how my friends died.. but i did it because it had to be done!"
and everyone is like "yeah yeah man, word."
Then some new guy says: "R U OK? This Army thing is total POS! In the game it was totally different, there i mad r0x0red tossing grens at everyone, and here im standing in some mud!! I want my cable access back!"
ehhehe |

the game looks pretty good, and the gameplay is fun, i havent gotten pass the mout mnt mckenna thing yet cause theres only a few servers that have it, and always full and laggy... but i did play it with a good ping a few times and it never passed us cause the dumbasses kept killing teamates...
oh well, its a fun game tho, i wish i could try some other servers! grr |

To each their own I suppose; so far I think it's pretty cool. I have an Army buddy that's blown away by the detail in the game - sez it's the real deal. |

So how does it compare to Flashpoint or the Tom Clancy games as far as realism goes. I really liked Flashpoint in many ways but it was often kinda clunky and the realism was a bit off on most areas for gameplay and accessibility reasons. I'm waiting for a game to make a good merger of the two. |
