Starting out the new year with some digital painting!
A Samus Aran-type character out on adventure, finding an old temple.

Wishing everyone a productive 2013.
Great stuff from all!
Mon: Always enjoy getting lost in your expressive lost and found abstract pieces.
Samsonsreaper: Nice to see you post here again. I enjoy how you have refined your personal approach.
Farvus: Can't tell you how much I adore that Chinese (?) woman in purple. Love the colour choices.
Lakka: The degree with which you experiment is something to embrace. It's great to see.
Rinthe: Really dig the shotgun girl on the last page, and love the recent landscapes.
Ranath: Loving your recent plane experiments. What is your approach to creating hard edges in these? Do you just use selection and mask tools? Also enjoyed the coastal rocks a few pages back.
Sheff: Your collage/piecemeal approach is great.
ZupZup: Always enjoy new posts from you. Endlessly energetic strokes.
CrazyBrush: Really dig the first of the tryptic girls.
A bunch of Nintendo DS sunset scribblets (and one sunrise) worked up from plein-air sketches...

Munin - Thanks. Nice landscapes. I wish I could go out and paint stuff like this too but it's too cold now and I'll need to buy some painting device.
Here's some sketch done mostly from imagination.

Munin, thanks, usually i start with quick line drawing to get somewhat decent perspective, then magic wand it out of white and clean the silhouette as a mask. Then just paint and separate any shapes necessary with masks, such as the second vertical tail fin in that su-27 sketch, as it wasn't defined in overall silhouette. But it's all quick and dirty.
By the way, your third sketch showing moor/field has a very nice mood!
paint to post

It was a really foggy morning over the bay last Wednesday, managed to snap a quick inspiring pic. Then got more inspiration from a beautiful painting I saw by Thomas Kegler earlier this week. So decided to do a quick study based on the photo I took. _________________ - Neil
