I thought I'd post this, it's small and pretty boring but I finished it a couple of days ago so it's my newest work I guess:

It's so small and narrow because it's intended to be a header graphic for a website. The client wanted a shopping mall floor with these four shops, one "for rent" sign and an elevator on the right.

I haven't painted interiors before, so this was rather frustrating to do... and it's painfully obvious where I got too tired with this image and kind of dropped the ball, sigh

It's not bad, but the glass doesn't look very transparent.
Will people be able to click on each individual store... if so, it would look nice if the individual stores would brighten up as you passed your mouse over each of them.

oh.. and you could put buttons like this next to the elevator to show that's what it is.

everything looks very good and real, except the company logostickers could be more fancy ..It looks like all the shops have used the same design and logo

Btw, why the "fork" didn't you 3d model this ?! it's for a client, therefor work,... therefor use as short time for as much money as possible

I did something "simililar" in a way a couple of weeks back for a stereo company. I just scanned a pic of New York and made a very siple 3d model and blended it in by moshing up some shadows and details on top of it in phshop, so the two elements worked well together....took maximum 2 hours 16 min and 4 sec.

Don't want to put my pic into your thread, since there's so much fuzz about about that, hope a link is not as rude

I agree with some of the past comments about the glass not being transparent enough but its also not reflective enough. The logos for the stores look strange because they have such a hard edge when everything else around it is so soft.

Try tightening up some of the edges and then throw in an adjustment curve to brighten up the whole thing. This might help you to regain focus and interest.

Yep, you're right Joachim, those shop windows and logos on the right are the part where I got really bored, they admittedly look like crap...

Yours looks neat (for this kind of job), I can understand the time saving point but the guys who I made this for wanted it to look painted. I guess I should have tried doing a render and painting over it, but duh, I didn't come to think of that in time... there's a Finnish saying that goes something like "stupid people have to work much harder", this is the perfect example

Mergatroid, thanks for the useful suggestions, but I don't think I'll rework this image anymore, I just don't have any more time to spend on this.
