for the record, I think boris vallejo is resoundingly crap. People do not a) run around fighting evil in quite such a greased-up fashion or b)enjoy having bronze pasties welded to their nipples. I am willing to forgive a bit of anatomical exaggeration, but he tends to be guilty of quite a lot of that as well.

your stuff is similar in subject matter (and there's nothing wrong with that), but different in execution.

I like the thong version better because it

is better. She is taunting the "onlooker"

I would like a combination .. shield and thong - seriously.

But i guess its not what you wanted to hear so i would opt for the shield version because it makes more sense to me than having a sword and tagging her panties.

I agree with most of the constructive critism I`ve got.

As for this poll, the editor couldn`t decide either..so I brought it up here. Although later today some another editor for another magazine at the same publisher felt most for using the original version with the thong and no shield. I think from this thread around 60% preferred the one without the shield too.
So we have a winner. She`ll do the "Thong song" ..Yeah yeah..bad joke.

Vebjourn, I think both versions are great. The problem I have with the shield one is that her stance doesn't look as solid as the other one, it looks like if she was pushed she would go over. I think this is because
you have moved her leg behind the shield in too much, and this is throughing it off a little bit. Also the shield doesn't look
like it's resting on the ground very well. I'm being hyper critical here, and these are very minor things that I see. Overall both pics work very well and the colours are excellent.

I know that doesn't help much, in which one to chose. I think I agree with Frost and let the editor decide.

It looks to me like some people here are getting a little confused and are thinking that being inspired by someones work is the same as copying it.....Nobody is totally original I'm sure we can see influences of one sort or another in everyones work, ideas gotta come from somewhere, as long as you make them your own there is nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

I noticed you mentioned Bisley,
and I also site him as a huge influence in my work also.

Anyway your creating some fantastic work, keep it up.
