I'm the FPS expert (but not 007 fan) so here it goes:
Gameplay - so sweet! Not agressive or wonderful, it's SWEET.
Graphics - you know it :) The textures and models are great. But how engine shows it is sometimes unbalanced.. Like the very distant objects get skewed if you zoom into them.
Guns - these are in between being realistic and imaginary.. Although i do like the AK47 BAYBEEEYEAH!!!
Engine - now this is what i like and dont like at the same time! It's very clean and BEST thing is the HUGE open areas. Its the first FPS game i played with such huge areas (ohh wait, Codename Eagle had huge islands but you never heard of it so)
Also i would say the bullet holes are huge and unrealistic. All objects are a bit unbalanced in scale with the map itself and the first person view :p
BUT i heard someone say IGI uses a reworked FLYING SIM engine? Then i cant say anything, maybe it's the original engine's fault.

I can only add something to Shizo's post: I think it would be best to have a save feature in the game, so if you make a wrong click you don't loose a long game.
Although right now you have to think everything twice

ok i downloaded the demo...
-its a little too easy, i beat it the first time through.
-the bullets being able to pass through wood and other materials was cool, but it was over used.
-i liked how they used the third person perspective on all but climbing ladders and sliding down those cables, once you are on the ladder (or cable) you can not jump off, shoot, or even stab someone with your knife...i think that kind of sucked
-textures and skins were all nice except for the players body. it seemed they used a high res skin for the face and a washed out low res for the rest of the body.
-i think the advantage of using the flight sim engine is that they are able to make large open detailed levels, and i have to say i really liked the change (well, from the small room syndrome of halflife.)
-the AI is horrible, they dont react when i snipe them, and they seem to all have hearing problems as well. They stand around and act like zombies untill you kill them, then they die.
-the physics of the weapons are not very realistic, but i dont think that really matters anyway.
i enjoyed the game, but ill probably end up spending my money on the new bond game instead. |

There are answers to all your remarks at www.projectigi.com
Oh, IGI does not use a flight sim engine. It just took some ideas from one. The IGI engine was built from scratch. |

This goes to those who downloaded and tested the released Project IGI demo.
What do you think of it?

i dunno. visuals are pretty nice at times.
but based on the demo, i am not giving delta force 2 up.
i'll buy the full version. but it's the same as with Rune. i wanna play it through to see the visuals.

I really liked the visuals too.
But the AI is not that great. Not comparable to Thief-the dark project at all in my opinion. The sound system is not that good either imho.
all in all I guess its a nice game but not something that will go through the roof like halflife or quake2 did.
I guess if innerloop hired programmers as good as their artists they would have been able to make a LOT more out of that game.

Faust......did you mention the terrible Df2? Shame on you. Df2 over IGI...
Okay so IGI doesnt have multiplayer. We have CS for that, and the occasional frenzy of Df3 or 1. But df2...naah.
IGI rox. And guess what? its in stores tomorrow

heh DF2 kicked ass for multiplayer, and the engine in Landwarrior was probably one of the nicer OpenGL terrains I've seen (although some tech demos look better) IGI was cool enough that it cought my attention despite what I thought were horrible graphics at first (I had the graphics all the way down and didn't know it) only real problem I found with the graphics was the popup, and the terrain wiggle when you zoomed in or moved too fast (sniper/cutscene) weapons are very cool, well done, and realistic... this game could have used multiplay so bad...
lastly, enemy AI... was pretty good on my computer, I mean they came after me from a diffrent hut when I shot their friends in another hut, and frankly, if they went totaly realistic with the AI (IE: any gunshot noise alerts the entire base, which is the way ... humans .. are) well you'd be dead pretty quick, and all those nicely placed enemies wouldn't be so nicely placed.
would jochaim or Micke like to comment of what they thought of the demo ?

hey way i killed your mom today
stein is the motherfucking coolest
the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
Stein Pedersen? probably.
i have too much time on my hands, but at least i found cheat codes...muhahahaahaha. |

Ive played IGI...
Its a very cool game...
The graphics look great...
the frame rate is poor though...
Snipering is cool, but gets boring very quickly du to the same death animations
All UP the game is pretty cool
pros:
Cool gfx
cool weapons
cool story
cool snipering
great terian
big maps
some of the sound effects, like the crunching of snow underfoot.
Good Viehcle models planes trains and automoblies
Cons:
Poor enimy Ai... they do the same thing over and over... and are very predictable... eg "HEy YOu" then they turn and shoot... that it. hhm
The weapons could have been more animated
Very Repitive levels... Like a compouns in some mountains with guards and wire fences all around...
The reuse of same buildings in maps...
Poor frame rate (25 fps)... This game would look and feel so good playing at 60fps...
No multiplayer...
Once you have beaten the game, (I have) It is so broing. Without Mplayer I might as well unintall it and put the cd back in its box...
Although I might have sounded a little harsh..
This game has some really cool gameplay...
I would recomend it... but maby wait till the game becomes a little cheaper before you buy it..
Also
As if there would be one lady at a computer directing all these missions..
there would be a whole team of military personell surrounding all the mission briefings giving in imput...
Not just one lady talking to an agent ut in the field..

After I finished the game I used cheats..
It fully wrecks the game..
It becomes INcredIBLY BOrinG |

hehe Faust, I totaly agree, especially zooming with the rifle you realize how inadequate polygons are for showing terrain
did you play/like land warrior? I thought it was pretty fun, although my GeForce futzed out before I could get into multiplay

we (3 guys) completed all of land warrior's missions in like ~1 hour with the hard difficulty setting (if that even applies to multiplayer) without any trouble at all.
it has zero challenge to it.
it's ugly as shit.
it's boring.
it doesn't work under nt4. (booting to 98 = bad. UPTIME!)

multiplayer df3 is even more boring and contentless than single player. at least in single player you have Gas Can running *straight* across the fucking battlefield thinking he's a battle mech or something.
df3 is such a fucking failure. (and i won't even say a word about people who play it and swear in it's name..........................)

DF3 runs MUCH smoother
DF3 even has practical indoors though i hate em
DF3 has more guns and they eject shells
Dont judge it by the demo... warez the damn thing and try. |
