Wow!
Thats really awesome work. It reminds me of something that would be cover of Dragon or Dungeon Magazine(if you can guess, they are magazines made by the creators of Dungeons and Dragons).. The warrior is really cool!

That's a great pic
I really like the hard edges and crisp colour.
The only think I would change is use some black on the armour, where the grey becomes really dark, I would throw some black in. But that's only because I like the strong contrast. A matter of personal taste
Nice style!

I think that painting ROCKS! Totally cool. Good job of composition, and blocking. Getting all the basic shapes in before painting in anything detailed.

You have painted a nice picture of a warrior type of being entering a cave in the clouds

Dont get me wrong, I think the picture and your style is nice, but the stuff his walking on doesnt look like snow at all (if it's supposed to be snow he-he)

The stormy clouds are awesome and the windy snow really adds something special..

Cool! Spike-rocks!

DM: "Make a dexterity roll, or your character slips and falls on the spike-rocks and impales himself (2d10 damage) just before he enters the cavern"

Player: "No f***in way! I'm wearing my armor of nimble-footing +3!"

Awesome pic. Takes me back to the fun D&D years.

Nice image - his pose is a little odd, but pretty good. Oh, and why's he walking through whipped cream?

Nice work, though to me, it looks a bit flat. Perhaps some more shine or rust or something on his armor..give it more a true 3d look to it. I do like the little white lines of snow or scratches along various parts of his armor. The hilt of the sword needs the same extra attention. Its like to me, this image is 1 step away from being finished..its all good..very cool..but needs those extra little shines, dirt, shadows..etc to make it truly a top-shelf piece of work!
Cool imagery

Thanks guys for the feedback, I need it.

The paintings I've been doing are all real abbreviated.. they're not finished works by any stretch.. mainly they're just paint-sketches because I've never really painted before and I'm trying to hone my skill at it so I can be much better with final works. Most all of these paintings I've been doing take me around an hour or so, give or take 10 minutes. I'd say they're a good 3 or 4 steps from being totally done. Like I said.. just practicing.. this is only my 5th one

I guess I put a little too much contrast on the snow is why it looks more like the land of dairy queen. I wanted a trodden snow look without making blatant footprints.

Sooner or later when I get some more quick paintings under my belt and more grasp of technique, I'll post a finished one.

I sure love your composition and center of interest in the paintings you do Elf.

The pose of the knight really makes me feel the depth of the snow. Each steps really takes some effort.
Keep posting your stuff man!

Cool website also.

I think your pics look really cool, but they look really washed out. Don't be afraid to use some dark colors in there. I think you've got the composition and anatomy down perfectly. It's just the color and whatnot that, I think, would make your pics INCREDIBLE.

Tinush said it, your pics do look washed out and need some definition. Everything looks flat and I can't (well i can but u know what i mean) feel a difference between the foreground and the clouds behind it. Also, you have an awesome style flex, but it would be nice to seee it more....realistic i guess. Like, the concept is wicked, but imagine a picture done like that that looked wickedly realistic or even cartoony, but with depth.

it would be awesome and has awesome potential.

Hehe

I see what you guys are saying.. line drawing style is my strength, with is why I am trying hard to compose a picture in my own style using as few lines as possible. It's (unintentionally) kinda like I took a line drawing I colored and eliminated the drawing layer. I'm gonna start up a comic strip here pretty soon so I'll be getting back into the comic art groove again.. I'll post some of it.. maybe if I mesh the two styles it might turn out pretty neat.

[I know I've said this all before, but there's a new crowd in here ]

Also keep in mind these are just basically color sketches (brain farts).. just working out the kinks on stuff I am horrible at, trying to work real fast and trying to get some simple layout ideas down on paper... err.. canvas... err... ugh.. you know what I mean

Thanks again
