Ok, this sort of falls under site promotion, but I really can't post all of his work here.

This is a site I just did for my very good friend, 100% pencil illustration with *ahem* more detail than you would think necessary.

Feel free to check it out, and if you're feel really saucy, you can drop him an email, I'm sure he'd really like to hear what you think about his work. Design critiques should be directed towards me. (Post in this thread if you like.)

Enjoy/Thanks guys!

N

Eek!

Poop. I've been nabbed.
Actually, that was more or less specifically requested of me. He's like 'Nah - check this site out, just make it like this one.'
I made a couple of changes, but he wanted it as close as possible.

I apologize regardless, you're right of course, a little too close. Perhaps some royalties are in order.

Design rip aside, do you like the work?

i don't really care for it, simply because his work is no where close to professional level (i can't believe he's trying to sell originals...made me laugh when i saw it)....thus i don't think many people are gonna visit this site. Besides, the internet is too big to get fustrated over this (sites are ripped all the time, BUT, it's usually changed to a certain degree....you used no brain cells when you copied mine). It's the content of the site that's important. And thus i'm not worried...

anyways, gotta get back to work....

Nice Rip Job!!!
Friend or not, you should have been original. Fengs site is elegant in it's simplicity. The site you're showing is "ONLY" a cheap imitation. I clicked on the link and immediatly thought of Feng's site. That is bad! Both artists and designers should strive for originality. If you admire someones idea, look, style or design... then study those elements and make them yours. Don't swap some stuff around and then call it yours. AND if you get busted? Well, then you look sub-par and always will to those who saw you rip. Bad move...
