I'm sure you have all gathered from the topic that I'm a new member. So we'll skip the normal new member ramblings. (You know, the comments such as, this forum rules, or long time lurker, first time caller, and other such stuff.) Well, now that I've rambled on about not rambling, let me get down to business.
Below is my first ever photoshop painting. Please rip it apart. The problems that I've noticed so far are that the face is too large (There isn't enough forehead), the eyes aren't done, the lighting is probably pretty far off, and I'm not a very good painter. But other than that, please feel free.
Oh yeah, if I didn't mention it, this forum rules.

the lighting on the left of the face makes the top of the face look very flat. you should smoothe that out some so its not such a drastic change from light to dark. His upper lip also looks too big. I think once you finish the eyes and the mouth it will look a little better.

Hi, and welcome on board!
Your picture looks very good for a first time photoshop piece!
Maybe you should look at some reference for eyes and mouth (or just in the mirror) this will help you find most quirks I guess-
I'll better leave further critique to the more qualified.. - this means about everyone else here

every feature on the face should generally line up with or be balanced equally on either side of the face. The mouth looks like its centered on another line, judging by the angle of the teeth.
The lighting doesn't look too bad, especially if this is your first PS painting. My suggestion is that you should spend some time referencing the face, You need a better understanding of the features. The best and easiest way is from photos, especially if your beginning. The smile lines around the mouth should have a deeper shadow.
my 2 cents, keep going you're off to a great start.
