*taps foot*
I'm waiting for Blitz to respond, he loves this guy
Yeah, when i first looked at Amano's work, it seemed a little disjointed for my likes, but his stuff for FF9(?) was fantabulous.. especially that illustration of the red haired girl riding that huge creature thing.. yeah What a wonderful blend of traditional artwork with video game art.

Those are two webpages I have in my Favs.
He is the best. Hands down.
(This is of course in my book)
I just bought the Art of Final Fantasy IX book.
I tis really good but it chumps Amano by giving him a few pics in the BACK of the book.
He didn't even get the cover=(
those bastards will pay.
Oh well. Now it is time for Rinaldo to post. He is also a fan.

My friend Christian Scheurer did a lot of the FF IX conceptual art - he also then worked on the game art itself. I wonder if a lot of his stuff is in the book ...
When I was at Square they just started out with FF9 - Amano just sent character sketches ... he basically planted the visual seed with his characters, the rest was (as far as I know) pretty much done without him ... but I'm sure he's got some say in the overall designs anyway.
Square also has a couple of other KILLER conceptual artists that work for them, and if those aren't enough they're usually ruthlessly hiring the cream of the biz to help them out ...
Spooge helped them out (lots!) with some mattes for their movie ... can't wait to see the stuff he's done for them ... |

Wow
Loki has now become a god to me.
no really, I really want to work for them. I think it would be fantastic to work on a Final Fantasy game. Especialy in conceptual art. It is what I want to do. But a lot of work still awaits me ahead.
Some day maybe. |

Thanks man
That is probably the most Positive responce I have ever recived.
Although I know it may take a while before I am up to snuff.
Sometimes I look at concept art and think, OK Im in. I can do that.
Other times Ill see someones art and think
Oh MY GOD. I should have stuck with playing football
You know what I mean?
any way
Yoshitaka Amano rules
You rule Loki
and your friend must rule to.
