I notice a lot of people struggle with Geocities to get their images displayed properly, when people have to resort to copying and pasting the link or some other form. I think some viewers might not bother and that artist loses the attention they need.

So I was wondering if anyone could post any links they know to alternative free web hosting sites to help them out. Or do all free sites operate in the same manner as Geocities? Guess that would void the point of this thread.

I wasn't sure if this belonged in Digital Art Discussion of here, so to be safe it's a random musing topic

You can try http://www.hypermart.net aswell, might be a bit slow at times though...

50g is pretty reasonable. You get 100 megs and a url that looks like this.

http://www.username.50g.com

It's free, there are banner adds. Seems like a dream 'eh? I thought so. Problemo is that it's slow a lot. Sometimes I have trouble loggin in on my FTP server because of extreme lag. lots of people use 50g. It's nice for hosting images but I don't use it for much else. Still use geoshitties for my web page 'till I bite the bullet and snag a domain.

if i remember correctly.

make a page on 50g and write "hola senior, como estas? yo encanta grande pantelones y leche?...errr zapattos del sol mi madre!!!" and they will delete your page cause its not entirely in english.

I hate geocities, all my comics, and drawings get screwed up! When you scroll down they become all, bla-blulblee, if you know what I mean. Anyways, my friend uses 8m.com, or try the so easy its a pain, homestead.
