first one: ear is totally off, skin is really really strange colour. hair is good, i liked it, maybe a few more individual strands and a bit shinier might give it a healthier look. neck totally off. needs to get wider at the bottom, not thinner.
second one: like the oputline, but the tooth seems a bit odd. try adding more teeth or shifting the tooth further front or something. |

ok points taken.... anymore things that anyone wants to add to the color or stuff?
i did get some comment saying on that black shouldnt be painted on a painting saying that black and white really isnt there... is there some kind of theory like that? cause it sounds reasonable....=] |

WEll.. I don;t actually know what the theory is but I'll have a geuss at it.
I think its to do with value 'room' if you don't use pure black or white, then if you need to right at the end you can make those vital adjustments witht he headroom you gave yourself at the start. Antoher reason would be that you can't actually find pure black in nature.. I'm not sure about white though. But even if you use the computer 0,0,0 black, anyone will still be viewing it and if there is no such things as pure black.. then why would it matter?
With white, it is useful to think of it in terms of additive and subtractive light. Say you have a pure white usrface in a painting, great you say! until that is, you add a bright lighbulb, and it just doesn;t look bright enough.. why because you didnt have any room to move in.. cos you already used the lightest value on that white surface. The light should be brighter because it is actually projecting light! (additive light)
Hope that made sense. |
