hey, those guys who've made mattes for actual productions - did you hide easter eggs in them?

like your name somewhere in the dirt, or a duck shaped bush, or whatever..

just wondering..

Interesting question. My home town in Sweden has their own logo, it's a boat with flags and stuff. I painted a building with graffitti on it, and also I put a faded version of the logo on the wall (looks like graffitti). I don't think you'll notice it unless you know what to look for.

EDIT: spelling. As usual.

hey wayfinder - yes sometimes I do put in some easter eggs, but quite often they're so small that I don't see them myself in the final shot. Usually I put stupid stuff on billboards, etc. ...
Sometimes I write 'Loki' in cloud formations. Did that on a cingular spot I recently worked on - maybe some of you caught it on tv - I haven't even once, haha.
It's a pullout from an airport into space ...
And when we leave earth, the low orbit view of the clouds contain my name somewhere in there ...
But nothing special - I usually have to cencentrate to get the job done nicely before I become silly - sometimes I do though

Strata> I'm freelancing in the London/Soho area. Currently at The Mill. http://www.millfilm.co.uk

The previous job with the logo was before Mill though.

Strata> Drop me an email if you want very specific answers and I'll let you know. (Don't want to talk about it here).
I didn't get the job from posting in the Sijun forum.

But basically, what I did was this; http://henrik.cgcommunity.com/about.htm

No, I didn't work on that. But I promise you'll see some really cool stuff this fall/next year.

EDIT: Hey, no spelling errors! Wohoo! Mail me at [email protected]

our swedish postal codes impress you? =D

it's like when we convinced a friend that we were going on vacation in switzerland, and she then wanted the address, so we told her straussgngen 3 (straussway in swedish) and she fell for it... she'd sent mail there and everything... oh well

Strata> I got too used to the english layout, couldn't manage to switch back again.
So I'm stuck with it till I move back to Sweden. (Yeah like that would happen).

Well, it wasn't in a matte painting, but I DID write "Jag r BANANEN!" (I am the banana) in very tiny letters in an illustration for...

...actually, I'm not going to mention who it was for, in case the art director finds out and gets mad. But it's out there. The banana is out there.
